2008 Dan Lowry 400 Presented by Crown Royal Predictions & Odds

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is ready a night race this weekend when it heads to Richmond, Virginia. Drivers are getting ready for the second Saturday night race of the year, when Crown Royal presents the Dan Lowry 400. In the first night race Jimmie Johnson was able to get Hendrix Motorsports into the winning column for the first time this season with a win at the Subway Fresh Fit 500. After a week layoff drivers were back at it last week at the always entertaining Aaron’s 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. Kyle Busch was able to come from a lap down and take home the victory, while many others got caught up in the big wreck towards the end of the race. Here at Richmond International Speedway is a D-shaped track that many consider to be “America’s Premier Short Track” To go along with this race early on in the season there is also a race ran on this track later in the season for the Chevy Rock & Roll 400. Last year Jimmie Johnson was able to take home the victory here at both events, and will be looking to defend his Crown Royal Championship this weekend. So with that said here is our 1-2-3 prediction for this weeks race.

Denny Hamlin 8/1 odds to win at Superbook
This guy is red hot in the last few weeks that we just couldn’t get ourselves away from picking him. After not cracking the top 5 in his first 5 races of the season, he won the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 and hasn’t left the top 5 since. He is currently coming off back-to-back 3rd place finishes. To top that off he has had some pretty good success at this event with a 3rd place finish last year and a 2nd place finish the year before.
Tony Stewart 8/1 odds to win at Superbook
Stewart is one of many big name drivers that are still looking for that first victory of the season. He has came close in a few races, and had his best chances to take home a victory when he finishes 2nd at the Kobalt Tools 500 and at the Daytona 500 where he finished 3rd. Stewart really seems to run well at the first race here at Richmond International Speedway where he has 2 victories and many top 10 finishes.
Jimmie Johnson 5/1 odds to win at Superbook
While this guy is always a threat to win each and every week, we don’t think that he will be coming away with a victory this weekend. We do see him having a great race and he will continue his run up the point standings. Johnson didn’t really have that good of numbers on this track before his two wins on this track last season, but with that kind of performance it’s hard to keep this guy out of your top 3.
