NASCAR is heading to Martinsville, Virginia for the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville Speedway. This will mark the 6th race of the 2008 season and will be the second short-track event of the season, after we had the first short-track race last week at Bristol. While many thought that Hendrick Motorsports and Roush racing would dominate last week it was Richard Childress Racing that took over the track when they finished 1-2-3. Jeff Burton was able to take home the victory with teammates Kevin Harvick and Clint Bower following close behind.

So yet again we are faced with the question, just when will Hendrick Motorsports win this year? While everyone knows that you won’t be able to keep those three guys out of victory lane for long, we aren’t so sure that this will be the week they take home the checkered flag. One good thing is that Jimmie Johnson won here at Martinsville last year, and Jeff Gordon has had continued success here over the years with 3 wins. The thing is that’s how it’s been for every race so far this year, and they just can’t figure out how to be the leader at the end of the race. With that said lets take a look at two racers we think will have a great shot at doing well at the short-track this weekend.

Tony Stewart 7-1 at Bodoglife

Last week Stewart looked as though he was going to take home the victory at Bristol, but with just three laps to go Stewart was wrecked by Hamlin, and Burton was able to take over from there. While Hendricks has had trouble winning in 2008, so has Stewart, who has had many solid finishes but has yet been able to take home a victory this season. His best finishes came at the Koblat Tools 500 where he finished 2nd, and maybe his most impressive at the Daytona 500 where he finished 3rd. While the reason we like Stewart is that he has been pretty consistent, and he also has a win here at the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 back in 2006.

Kevin Harvick 12-1 at BodogLife

Harvick has been pretty impressive this season with top 10 finishes in every race except the Daytona 500, where he still was able to finish 14th. Coming off a 2nd place finish last week at the Food City 500, Harvick looked pretty impressive as he has all season. He too is still looking for that first victory of the season and could very easily take home the checkered flag this weekend. The one thing that scares us is that his past success here isn’t the greatest, but like we said earlier if we based everything off previous years, then Jimmie Johnson and teammates would be dominating right now. So forget the past and ride Harvick into victory lane this weekend.

So head over to BodogLife and get your bets in on these two guys to win at the Goody’s Cool Orange 500. BodogLife is quick and easy and will have you ready in no time.
