NASCAR is heading to Phoenix, Arizona this week for the Subway Fresh Fit 500. The Race is set to take place on April 12th at Phoenix International Speedway. While so far the races have taken place on Sunday afternoon, this race is set to take place Saturday night. Last week Carl Edwards took home his 3rd victory of the season, when he won the Samsung 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. The move to Phoenix marks the first of six races that are run on flat mid-range tracks. Last year Jeff Gordon took home his first victory at Phoenix International Speedway after many top five and top ten finishes. This week the odds on favorite coming into the race is Carl Edwards at Bodoglife.com. Here is our look at two guys we think have a great shot at winning this weekend in the cool dessert air of Phoenix.#48

Jimmie Johnson 6/1 odds at Bodoglife.com

Johnson has really looked like he has got things figured out after a very slow start by his standards, after two straight top five finishes. Last week he was able to finish second at the Samsung 500. Johnson has been overall pretty impressive at the Phoenix International Speedway, as he has only finished outside the top 10 twice since 2002. During that stretch he has one victory coming in the second of the two races held on this track in 2007. He is currently riding a three race streak of top 5 finishes including a 4th place finish at the Subway fresh fit 500 a year ago. Its only a matter of time before the two time defending points champion takes home his first victory of the season. Johnson is a very safe pick this weekend, and could be the first of many victories for the 48 Lowe’s car.

#29 Kevin Harvick 12/1 odds at Bodoglife.com

Harvick hasn’t been spectacular this season, but has been pretty consistent each and every week. He has cracked the top 10 four out of the seven races this season, and his best finish came a few weeks ago when he finished 2nd at the Food City 500. Though he is coming off a couple of mediocre starts at the Goody’s Cool Orange 500 where he finished 12th, and last week finishing 11th at the Samsung 500. Harvick is another driver that has a lot of success on this track. He finished in the top 10 in both races last year, and just two years ago he won the Subway Fresh Fit 500 in the first race and then went on to win the Checker Auto Parts 500 in the second race at Phoenix International Speedway. Harvick like Johnson is due for a victory this season. He has been pretty successful on these flat mid-range tracks, where you see a lot of the same drivers finishing in the top five-year in and year out. So take these decent odds on Harvick and look for another great finish
