Eli Manning Super Bowl Predictions

January 31, 2008

With the Super Bowl fast approaching fans look to props for a chance to make a little extra cash aside from the big bet they put on the game. One of the fun features about player props is that even though you might of picked the Patriots to win the game, you can still put money on how you think the Giants players will perform. While the patriots are loaded with stars, the Giants are in the Super Bowl because of the play of their starting quarterback Eli Manning. Manning’s numbers haven’t been...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/31/08

January 30, 2008

Arizona +4 This year Arizona has done a good job of playing up to the level of their competition, going 11-3 ATS against teams who are outscoring their opponents by 4+ ppg. The Wildcats have always played well in the role of the underdog, going 36-16 ATS when catching points the last ten seasons. Arizona is playing well, winning by double digits in their last two games against Washington and Washington State. That’s important because the Wildcats are 6-0 ATS the last two seasons coming...

NBA Picks 1/31/08

January 30, 2008

Phoenix Suns -7 For this game you have the San Antonio Spurs who are just playing horribly the past 30 days, coming in at 3-12 ATS in the month of January and the Phoenix Suns.  The Suns want to show the defending champions that their reign over the Western Conference is coming to an end.  Phoenix has a 16-4 record on their home floor with a margin of victory of over 10 ppg.  The Spurs are just 8-11 on the road this year, so with these two teams matching up we have to like the Suns to win big.

While many of us will make a bet on who will win the game, its always fun to take a look at some of the player props for a way to make some extra cash. It might be a little overwhelming at first because of the number of different props that are out there, we are going to take some time and look at Tom Brady’s props. We will look at the ones that we think have the best shot of winning and give you our reason behind it. First off lets just say we are predicting a big day out of the air for Brady....

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/30/08

January 30, 2008

We take a split on yesterday’s games, but we have a big card for you on Wednesday with some marquee matchups.  One in the Missouri Valley where Creighton heads to Des Moines to take on Drake, and in the Big 12 there is Texas/Texas A&M and Kansas State/Kansas so let’s cash in and have a big day. St. Joe’s -6.5 Don’t worry about laying the points on the road with this St. Joe’s team.  They are 8-3 away from home this year with almost a double digit margin of victory. ...

NBA Picks 1/30/08

January 30, 2008

We’ve hit a cold spot for our NBA picks so it’s time to go back to the drawing board. I took a lot of time looking at today’s games and this is the winner that I have found. Portland Trailblazers -3 This is a good spot for the Blazers tonight so we will gladly lay the small number against the Cavs. Portland is 22-7 ATS at home when they host a team with a winning record the past two seasons and they are 10-2 ATS at home when coming off a win this year. Cleveland has been playing...

Howard Lederer

January 30, 2008

It was at the age of 18 that Howard Lederer decided to skip college, but it wasn’t to play poker. It was to pursue his passion for chess. However, when he reached the city he found a poker game in the back room of the chess club he went to and he was instantly hooked on the game. He started to play poker 70 to 80 hours each week and most of the time lost all of the money he had in his bankroll. He got in early on the No-Limit hold ‘em craze when he started playing at the Mayfair Club....

Hold em Preflop Strategy Abdul

January 29, 2008

Due to the effect of community cards, hold’em is a game of “domination,” a term coined by Roy Hashimoto. A hand is dominated if it has 3 or fewer outs against another, like AJ against AQ. Second best offsuit hands are what make you money in hold’em – when other players play them. With the flip of a card, pairs and suited hands can transform from dominated to dominating. Lure your opponents into playing dominated hands while avoiding dominated situations yourself. Big...

Doyle Brunson

January 29, 2008

There isn’t anyone in poker who enjoys a more legendary status than Doyle Brunson.  He is now 73 years of age and is still going strong in his 31st World Series of Poker main event.  In the world of poker his name rings out just like Babe Ruth in baseball, Michael Jordan in the NBA, and Arnold Palmer in golf.  I just can’t imagine anyone else coming along that becomes bigger than this guy. If there is anything that we should be thankful for, it’s the buzz that Doyle Brunson...

David Williams

January 29, 2008

David Williams has a bright, young mind and is one of the more charismatic players in the poker world.  He is another member of the Bodog “Rat Pack.” Williams is a savvy tournament and online poker player who was thrust into the spotlight as a 23-year-old at the 2004 World Series of Poker main event.  He earned a nice $3.5 million paycheck for his second place finish and then went on to a runner-up finish at the World Poker Tour’s Borgata Open. This is one of the brightest minds...

Patriots Giants Super Bowl Picks

January 29, 2008

In one of the most hyped Super Bowls in recent years, the undefeated New England Patriots (18-0) will face the surging New York Giants (13-6). This is a rematch of the final game of the regular season when the Patriots were able to sneak out a 3-point victory at stadium. The Patriots will try and be the first team to finish the regular and post-season undefeated since the Dolphins went 14-0 back in ’72, but this will mark the first time a team has done it going 19-0. The Giants will get their...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/29/08

January 29, 2008

We cash in with our winner on the College of Charleston yesterday, now we have two more games lined up for Tuesday that will keep the gravy train rolling along. Eastern Kentucky +4 Earlier in the year, Eastern Kentucky beat Tennessee-Martin 70-51 on their home floor and we see no reason to beleive they are going to lose this game as the visitor. Tennessee-Martin is 1-9 ATS when revenging a double digit loss in their last 10 spots. Eastern Kentucky is 7-0 ATS when playing against a team with...

NBA Picks 1/29/08

January 29, 2008

The Spurs went down in flames last night.  Let’s get back on track today with two winners I’m feeling pretty good about. Toronto Raptors +2 Over the last three seasons Toronto has played very good on the road against teams who score a lot of points, going 22-9 ATS against teams who average more than 99 ppg.  Toronto has also been playing better lately, winning four out of their last five and seven out of their last nine games.  Washington on the other hand has dropped two out of...

Point Spreads for Every Super Bowl

January 28, 2008

The New England Patriots are currently 11-point favorites against the New York Giants, but betting fans are wondering how much it may change before the game. When Vegas first learned of the match-up they set the line at 14, and in just one week it has dropped 3 points. There is still one week till the two teams take the field, and fans might see another drop in the line. We don’t see the line moving much more from where it’s at, but if Brady’s injury becomes more severe the line would drop...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/28/08

January 28, 2008

A split yesterday as Maryland blew a big lead. Those are the kinds of games that really piss you off since we had all but chalked up that game as a win yesterday. Let’s move on and get this week started off right with the only college winner we have seen worth playing tonight. College of Charleston +2 This line looks a little fishy to us since Charleston has lost three straight games while Wofford has won their last three. Wofford has the better record at 11-9 while Charleston is 10-11....

NBA Picks 1/28/08

January 28, 2008

There is only one game going tonight in the NBA that shows value and we think we have this winner pegged down.  Let’s get on the winning track tonight with the Spurs/Jazz matchup. San Antonio Spurs +2 The Spurs were embarrassed on Saturday by the New Orleans Hornets and this is a team with a lot of pride that is going to want to bounce back strongly.  Tim Duncan has never had a worse loss on his home floor in his entire career and when they head to Utah the Jazz are going to get the full...

Super Bowl Line Moves

January 27, 2008

It seems like the odds makers overshot their target when they set the opening number for this year’s Super Bowl. As soon as the conference championship games had ended New England was listed as a two touchdown favorite over the New York Giants. People who liked the Giants threw down a lot of money early and the odds quickly went down trying to attract action on the Patriots. That shouldn’t be a problem since the general public seemed to ride the Pats all season long and did well...

Ways Casinos Get You to Lose More Money

January 27, 2008

The casino isn’t in the business of giving away free money, even though that is what it seems millions of players are expecting when they walk through the doors or load up their favorite online casino software.  If you play smart, you can have a great time for an extended period and if you are lucky come out on top.  But the casino is greedy and wants to take as much of your cold, hard cash as it can.  Here are some of the more popular methods you’ll find. Free Alcohol Remember those...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/27/08

January 27, 2008

Tough day on Saturday, but we look to bounce back with two solid winners, including the big game between Maryland and Duke. Xavier -4 Xavier rises to the abilities of the team that they are playing, as evidenced by their 21-10 ATS record against teams with a record above .500 the last two seasons.  UMass is 13-5 and 7-1 at home, so Xavier is going to have their hands full today if they hope to come out with a victory, but we think they can do it.  They have won 8 of their last 9 games and seem...

NBA Picks 1/27/08

January 27, 2008

We took another day off from the NBA yesterday since we didn’t see any value in the four games on the board.  Let’s get back on track with this sole winner for Sunday. Sacramento Kings -4 We took Seattle the other night and they screwed us, now we are going to fade them.  This team is terrible and has now lost 13 straight games.  You would think home floor would give them an advantage here against the Kings, but the Sonics have dropped six straight in front of what little crowd they...

2008 Grammy Predictions

January 26, 2008

The 2008 Grammys are sure to be a knock-out production as they are every year but this time the tables are slightly turned. With the Writer’s strike bringing the Oscars to a halt, the Grammys are one of the only remaining chances celebrities have to strut down the red carpet and show off their newest Botox injection, Pimp Cup or Boob job. Of course, you never know which artist will rock the stage and which ones will deliver less than perfect performances. But one thing that you can be sure...

Super Bowl Betting Pools

January 26, 2008

It’s no secret that many of us are going to wager on this year’s up coming Super Bowl game. While doing this makes the game fun to watch for you, it really doesn’t do much for those who don’t have money on the game. I am sure many of you have heard of a betting pool, but just incase you haven’t we are going to let you in on a fun way for everyone to have the chance to walk away a winner. First off lets go over just what a betting pool is and how to set it up.  First off you need to...

Super Bowl Coaches

January 26, 2008

The Super Bowl is where NFL players get to take their game to the biggest stage and showcase it to everyone. While players could set records in the regular season, it means nothing if they don’t produce in the big game. It’s also a chance for players to make fans forget about a mediocre season. Players’ careers are sometimes judged on whether or not they have won a Super Bowl, and how they perform in that game. What goes unnoticed many times is the man in charge of the players. NFL coaches...

January 26, 2008

Every year the weeks prior to the Super Bowl are full of amazing stories that catch the eyes of almost every sports fan. Whether it be an injured player coming back to play when no one expects them to, or a teams improbable run to the final game. These stories are followed closely during the game and many times create some of the most unforgettable moments in sports history. This year we have stories such as Tom Brady’s injured toe and just how bad it really is. Say Brady has a huge game and...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/26/08

January 26, 2008

After taking yesterday off we are ready to get back on track Saturday.  I’m only playing these four games, and since we are cutting it a little close to tip off I’m just going to put them out without any writeups. Texas A&M -1.5 Mississippi +6 Utah State +5 West Virginia -2.5 Overall Record 26-31

NBA Picks 1/25/08

January 25, 2008

It wasn’t pretty, but New Jersey took care of business enough for us to get the W last night.  Let’s ride that success with one more winner for Friday night’s action. Seattle Sonics +2.5 Seattle beat the Hawks in a high scoring game back in November and Atlanta is just 4-14 ATS when revenging a home loss to an opponent the last two years.  We know that the Sonics appear to be in a real funk right now, losing 12 straight games, but they have covered in their last two and more importantly...

Concentration at the Poker Table

January 24, 2008

If you want to succeed at poker then you are going to have to have a high concentration level at the poker table. This way you can take in more information about your opponents. So let’s see why it might be a mistake to wear headphone and listen to music or wear sunglasses while you are playing. The game of poker centers around information, both that you give to your opponents and they give to you. Most of the time that information comes in the form of betting patterns, why is key if you...

Common Poker Mistakes

January 24, 2008

All too often we see these common poker mistakes made by inexperienced players.  If you want to take your game up to another level than not only will you learn by your own mishaps, but also by watching the other players at the table and learning from them as well.  Bad players will never learn from their missteps and that is what separates the players that make it to the top from the ones that go bust.  Another great thing about this article is that if you see other players making these mistakes,...

Chris Ferguson

January 24, 2008

Chris “Jesus” Ferguson has become one of the most popular and well-liked players in poker. He can’t remember a time in his life when he wasn’t involved in poker and way back in the 4th grade he remembers a time when he went broke, losing his last 35 cents. Chris played in regularly home games in his home town and would head to Vegas often to return with a tidy profit. In college, he discovered the world of online poker. We aren’t talking about a quality site like...

Buy the Button

January 24, 2008

Several major card rooms in the San Francisco Bay Area use a rule called “Buy the Button.” This is an option that pertains to the blinds. The only thing to prevent a casino from using this rule is that they do not know about it. You leave the table, beckoned by your mate, stomach, bladder, nicotine, whatever. You have a sense of how much time you have until your big blind. But now and then, you return a moment too late. sigh You could post both blinds behind the button, but you’re...

Upsets in the Super Bowl

January 24, 2008

People all over are talking about if the New York Giants can upset the undefeated New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Many are asking the question if it would be the biggest upset anyone has witnessed? While many would say that there is no question it would be, others would be quick to remind you of their teams dramatic upsets from previous Super Bowls. For instance I would like you to convince Jets, Broncos, Chiefs, and even yes these same New England Patriots, that their teams weren’t...

Big Hands Big Pots

January 24, 2008

You are going to need big hands for big pots or else you are going to be left holding the bag. Recently I was playing in a $4,000 No Limit Hold ‘em event in which we all started with $6,000 and then I had $30,000.  At my table was a player I’ve gone up against many times in the past. A hand came in which I raised before the flop from the middle position with K-J offsuit and the player I knew called me from the big blind.  The flop came out 9-6-4 with two of the cards being of the same...

NBA Picks 1/24/08

January 24, 2008

Last night didn’t go so well, with both of our games looking good at first and then heading south in a big way.  Let’s bounce back with the best game on the board tonight. New Jersey Nets +9 This is a game where two teams appear to be headed in the wrong direction with the Nets losing six straight and the Warriors winning five of their last seven.  The thing is Golden State is just 7-16 ATS the game after one in which they made 12 or more 3-point shots this season and the Nets are...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/24/08

January 24, 2008

Tough 2-2 day yesterday as South Carolina and Cincinnati both lose heart breakers while our other two games win comfortably. Let’s bounce back with a big Thursday card. Virginia Tech +8.5 Virginia Tech comes into this game a perfect 8-0 on their home floor and while they stand at just 11-7 overall, Duke is just 11-23 ATS when playing a team with a winning percentage over 60% the last three seasons. The Hokies have been playing some close games lately, and we expect this to be another tight...

Worst Super Bowl Commercials

January 24, 2008

With every good thing usually comes something bad, and with Super Bowl commercials it’s no different. Many people look forward to watching the ads every year, because of their usually great quality and good laughs they provide. Companies have to try and be creative and do something never before done in order for their commercial to go home a winner. One bad thing that happens with this is that sometimes companies have ideas that aren’t so good. We are going to give you what we think is the...

Super Bowl Ring

January 24, 2008

As an NFL player or coach your whole season is based on whether or not your team goes to the Super Bowl. The two teams that are able to withstand the grueling season and playoffs are rewarded with a chance to go down in immortality. The winners are not only able to call themselves World Champions, the team is rewarded with the Lombardi trophy and each player is given a customized ring. The ring is something of great importance to those who receive it. The ring is a way of showing everyone...

Barry Greenstein

January 23, 2008

You might not know the name of Barry Greenstein, but you should. He has gone unnoticed as a professional poker player for years but he’s now starting to get the attention that he deserves. He has won a couple of tournaments in less than a year worth more than $1 million dollars. What makes this...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/23/08

January 23, 2008

Last night we put up two complete duds so it’s a good thing getting blown out doesn’t hurt us any more than those close losses.  Four solid plays for tonight so let’s get back some of those losses from last night. UMass +7 UMass comes into this game with a better record yet they are getting a significant amount of points on the road at St. Joe’s.  The reason is that they are just doing enough to win games, as evidenced by their only covering one time in their last six...

NBA Picks 1/23/08

January 23, 2008

Last night was a tough loss as the Bucks were hanging in there with the Suns for most of the game, but got blown out in the 4th quarter to cost us a half point loss. It’s time for a little revenge with two games that I’m really liking tonight. I’ll be back with NCAA basketball plays for today later on this afternoon. 11-10 (0 units) Indiana Pacers +3.5 Indiana is a high scoring team and the Bulls have had a tough time this year with offensive minded squads. The Pacers are...

NBA Picks 1/22/08

January 22, 2008

11-9 +110 We’ve taken a couple of days off of the professional hardwood after the Clippers won for us in overtime Saturday, but we are ready to jump right back in the sattle for this Tuesday winner. Milwaukee Bucks +8.5 The Bucks played yesterday in New Orleans and looked pretty good for the most part.  Then in the third quarter they fell apart and lost bigger than they should have, which is one reason this line is so high.  However, we can expect a bounce back here as Milwaukee is 5-2...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/22/08

January 22, 2008

2-0 on Sunday with a few close winners.  Let’s try to make it a little easier tonight with these two that I feel have a great shot at coming through for us.  Toledo +5 I know this might give you a double take since Toledo has gone 0-10 on the road this season, but they have played Eastern Michigan well and that team shouldn’t be laying five points to anybody.  The Rockets have won six straight meetings between these two teams and are 6-2 ATS on their last eight trips to Eastern Michigan. ...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/20/08

January 20, 2008

Went 5-5 yesterday losing the juice.  Just can’t seem to get it going on the college hardwood yet this year, but I’m hoping to get things turned around today.  Record 20-24 -640 Temple pk I’ll take Temple here in a straight pick em spot against one of the worst teams in college basketball.  I’m still reeling from that 20-point performance St. Louis put up against George Washington.  Temple has been known as a team with solid defensive fundamentals for years, and they should...

2008 NFC Championship Game Picks, Predictions, and Odds

January 19, 2008

We like New York +7 The New York Giants head to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game in a battle of two of the NFL’s most storied teams. Oddsmakers have the Packers listed as touchdown favorites at home this week, but don’t count the Giants out. Last week’s win over Dallas should have taught you that already. The Packers are certainly happy about playing this one at home where they are 8-1 straight up and 7-1-1 ATS this season. And the Giants certainly...

2008 AFC Championship Game Picks, Predictions, and Odds

January 19, 2008

Our Pick: San Diego +14 The New England Patriots are favored by more than two touchdowns in this Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.  If the Chargers are able to pull off the upset against the 17-0 Patriots, it will be considered one of the biggest upsets in NFL history.  The Patriots are already responsible for one of the biggest upsets the NFL has ever seen when it knocked off the high powered St. Louis Rams as two-touchdown underdogs in 2002.  Will New England get a taste of what it feels like...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/19/2008

January 19, 2008

Lots of games we like today so I’m going without the writeups. Syracuse -4.5 Iowa State -1.5 Kansas State +2 Nebraska -3 Missouri +7 Louisville -8.5 Duquesne -3.5 Texas -17.5 Arizona +2 Virginia -5 Record 15-19 -590 Leave some comments below to tell me what you think or who you are liking in today’s games.  You can also subscribe to our feed above and get these daily picks sent to you by email.

NBA Picks – 1/19/2008

January 19, 2008

We hit another winner last night with Golden State coming through late against the Bulls.  How about that stat on the Bulls now at 0-16 if they give up more than 100 points? Record 10-9 +10 Clippers +2 The Nets have lost three straight games and have not looked well in doing so.  Their offense is having trouble putting points on the board and even though the Clippers aren’t a great team, we’ll take them on their home floor catching the points.  LA had New Jersey’s number earlier...

NBA Picks – 1/18/2008

January 18, 2008

Golden State pk The Bulls are 1-7 ATS in their last eight games on their home floor and have gone 6-21 ATS in their last 27 against teams from the Pacific division.  This should be a high scoring game which brings in the fact that Chicago is 1-14 ATS this year when giving up 100 or more points.  Plus I don’t know if the Bulls can keep up with Golden State’s offense, especially without Kirk Hinrich suiting up. Overall Record 9-9 +10

NBA Picks 1/17/08

January 17, 2008

Let’s get back last night’s loss on the Nets with a solid Thursday winner. Phoenix -1.5 Don’t fall into the same trap that most of the general public will.  Sure the Lakers have a great record and have been winning a ton of games lately, but there is a reason they are a home underdog to a team that they have already beaten twice this season.  This Laker team is going to look a lot more like the team that has gotten killed by the Suns in the previous couple of years since Andrew...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/17/08

January 17, 2008

Nice day yesterday with our 2-0 sweep.  Let’s see if we can’t keep the gravy train rolling with another pair of winners for tonight. Minnesota +2  Sure Indiana is playing well this season, but Tubby Smith seems to have really turned the Minnesota program around.  Indiana has gone 1-5 ATS in their last five trips to Minnesota and are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 Big Ten games.  The Gophers haven’t lost at home yet this season and we don’t see them putting a blemish on...

NBA Picks 1/16/2008

January 16, 2008

The Bulls laid an egg last night, but let’s see if we can’t get it back with the top winner for Tuesday’s card. New Jersey Nets -7 The Knicks won again last night and should feel pretty confident as they shoot for their first three game winning streak of the season.   You won’t see the Nets looking past the Knicks however since they have already lost to New York two times this season.  The public seems to love the idea of catching so many points with this team tonight,...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/16/2008

January 16, 2008

We pick up a nice win on Creighton last night, so let’s try to find the black with two more winners for Wednesday. Iowa State +5.5 The Tigers are coming off a big win against Texas and they have Kansas coming up for their next game, so this is a great spot for Iowa State tonight.  The Cyclones have played well in front of the Ames faithful going 8-2 and the Tigers have been bad on the road when they are the favorite, going 2-5 ATS in their last seven games.  Missouri is also just 8-18-1 ATS...

Value Jockeys for Horse Racing Betting

January 15, 2008

If you are looking to cash more tickets at the track then maybe you should start looking for value jockeys. These are the guys that are just as good as the 6 or 7 guys on any racing circuit but don’t have the same reputation and thus don’t get mounted on the prestigious horses. Of course the horse plays the most important role. They are like the star players on the best football, basketball, and baseball teams. In horse racing, it’s the horse that makes the jockey and the trainer,...

2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Predictions & Odds

January 15, 2008

Even without Tigers Woods at the 2008 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic there will still be a decent field for the five-round pro-am event. If you are interested in doing any golf betting on this week’s tournament then you should note Mike Weir is the favorite. Weir won this event back in 2003 and finished fourth at the Mercedes-Benz Championship earlier this month. Now Weir isn’t the favorite that you would normally come to expect out of PGA events since Woods is listed at even money at most...

UFC 80 Picks, Predictions, & Odds

January 15, 2008

BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson UFC 80 takes place this Saturday at the Metro Arena in Newcastle, England. Where “The Prodigy” BJ Penn (12-4-1) will take on Joe “Daddy” Stevenson (33-7). The UFC lightweight title will be up for grabs. Penn has waited six years for another shot at the lightweight title. Stevenson is not going to be an easy opponent though as he is undefeated in lightweight competition.  Penn first got his shot at the title back in 2002 when he faced Jens Pulver in a 5 round war...

Creighton Northern Iowa NCAA Basketball Picks

January 15, 2008

Time to pick things up a little bit on the NCAA floor. Here is my one play for tonight. Creighton +1 Northern Iowa has lost three straight games and now they get Creighton, a team that has won seven straight and nine out of their last ten against them. Creighton is also playing really well right now with three straight wins and victories in seven of their last nine games. They are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games and should give the Panthers trouble with their stifling defense. Overall Record...

NBA Picks – 1/15/08

January 14, 2008

Overall record 8-7 (+30 units) Took yesterday off on the pro hardcourt since there weren’t any plays that really jumped out at me, and I’m being choosy again today with just one game that I’m liking. Chicago Bulls +6.5 at Orlando The Bulls have alternated wins and losses over their last eight games as they just can’t seem to get something going then keep it going the next night. They lost to the Hawks on Sunday, so that means they are due for a win here against the Magic....

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/14/08

January 13, 2008

Picked up a nice win on Oregon -2 yesterday.  Let’s keep it going with a bunch of games for Monday. Record 10-15 -650 Georgetown -2.5 This is a good game between two solid Big East teams, and we are taking the Hoyas.  Georgetown is 21-11 ATS against teams with a winning record the past two years and they are 6-0 ATS the last three against teams who average more than 40 boards per game.  The Hoyas are 16-5 ATS against good defensive teams who hold their opponents under 64 ppg, and Pittsburgh...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/13/08

January 13, 2008

9-15 (-750)  A really ugly day on Saturday leaves us with a bad taste in our mouth.  Not off to the best start in college hoops but we’ll get it turned around.  We are going with just one play for Sunday so let’s make it a good one. Oregon -2 The Ducks have gone 7-0 this season on their home floor and we like them to continue that streak today when they host Stanford.  Stanford is just 1-4 ATS over their last five games, and they are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven conference games. ...

NBA Picks 1/13/08

January 13, 2008

Yesterday’s 1-2 performance drops us to the .500 mark.  Let’s see if we can’t get back on top with the one winner today. New Orleans pk – This line has really dropped and it’s easy to see why.  The Hornets have played well outside of New Orleans, going 14-5 on the road.  The team has also done well against today’s opponent, the Houston Rockets.  New Orleans is 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings, and the road team has dominated going 8-2 ATS over the last 10. ...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/12/08

January 12, 2008

6-7 (-170) Our 2-2 night last night costs us the juice, but let’s see if we can’t get back on track with this heavy slate of hoops action on the college courts. Florida -14.5 NC State +19.5 Xavier -19 UTEP -18 Ohio State +1 Loyola Marymount +20.5 St. Louis +5 South Carolina +6 Houston +1 Cincinnati +2.5 Nebraska +10

NBA Picks 1/12/08

January 12, 2008

An ugly night last night and hopefully we can get rebounded here on Saturday. Overall Record 7-6 (+40) Pistons -9.5 Detroit is 37-23 ATS when playing a team with a losing record the last 2 seasons and the Bobcats fit the bill with their 13-22 record.  The Pistons have done a good job covering when they are supposed to, coming in with a 20-8 ATS record as a favorite.  Detroit is also 15-5 ATS when coming off a win by 10 or more points and since their latest double digit victory was against the...

College Basketball Picks 1/11/08

January 11, 2008

Disappointing night last night with a couple of losses by a half point.  Let’s see if we can’t get the college hoops turned around with these winners.  I think with all of the small schools playing tonight there isnt’ as much value in the sides, but the totals are showing a few nice numbers that I’m going to try to take advantage of.  Good luck everyone. Record 4-5 (-150) Harvard/Dartmouth UNDER 137.5 Manhattan/Canisius OVER 136 Rider/Iona UNDER 145 Marist/St. Peter’s...

NBA Picks 1/11/08

January 11, 2008

3-0 night last night picked us up some nice units.  There are a lot of games tonight and I don’t really have time to write up why I like them all, but hopefully we can keep the gravy train rolling another day.  Enjoy. Record 5-1 (+390) Cleveland Cavs -7.5 Cavs OVER 188.5 New Jersey Nets +7.5 Nets OVER 187 New Orleans -11.5 Lakers -13 Lakers UNDER 208.5

NBA Picks – 1/10/08

January 10, 2008

Record 2-1 (+90 units) Nice day of profits yesterday with Charlotte upsetting Boston and the Magic taking care the Clippers. The sole loss was Golden State playing ugly. Let’s see if we can’t continue this success with tonight’s winners. Utah/Phoenix UNDER 219.5 Jerry Sloan will have his players realizing that if they want to beat the Suns, getting into a track meet with them isn’t the answer. Jazz -6.5 If you are taking the UNDER, then you have to think Utah’s style...

College Basketball Picks – 1/10/08

January 10, 2008

1-1 yesterday as Ole Miss nearly upsets Tennessee but Georgia Tech lays an egg against Georgia. Let’s see if we can’t rebound tonight. Record 1-1 (-$10) Valparaiso -11.5 Boise State -5.5 Oregon -5.5 Wisconsin -10.5 Idaho -7.5 Washington +16 Washington State +2 Quite a few games on the board today and since it’s getting close to the tip off I wanted to release them without the analysis. Good luck to everyone and let’s see if we can’t get this thing started off on the...

2008 NFL Playoff Picks Round 2

January 9, 2008

Seattle +9 I’m going with the Seahawks in this one. Holmgren and Hasselbeck will be looking for revenge, and they have experience on their side. Green Bay is a fairly young team hasn’t battled it out in the do-or-die atmosphere that is the playoffs. Seattle’s defense has been tough all year long, and they should cause some problems for the Green Bay offense. I don’t see Seattle having much trouble passing the ball now that all four of their top receivers are healthy (Branch,...

NCAA Basketball Picks 1/9/2008

January 9, 2008

College Basketball Picks for January 9th, 2008 Record 0-0 (0 units) Georgia Tech +1.5 Both of these teams have been struggling this season, but I’m riding the Yellow Jackets in this one. Georgia is only 6-15 ATS the last three years against teams that are averaging more than 77 ppg. Georgia Tech is putting up 77.2 ppg overall but more than 79 ppg on the road. Ole Miss +9 Ole Miss is the better rebounding team in this one, and they are 8-1 ATS when they get 4 or more rebounds than their opponents...

NBA Picks – 1/9/2008

January 9, 2008

Record 0-0 (0 units) Charlotte +13 at BodogLife The Bobcats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 trips to Boston. If the Celtics are ever going to overlook anyone it will have to be tonight when they host one of the league’s worst teams. Charlotte picked up a big win over the Nets last night in a game that their offense seemed to find a groove. Boston hasn’t played since they knocked off Detroit so they still might be a little high on themselves. Golden State +2 at BodogLife The Warriors...
