Holiday Bowl Betting

The 2008 Holiday Bowl features an exciting matchup between the No. 13 ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys and the No. 15 Oregon Ducks on Tuesday night. Both of these teams appear pretty evenly matched as each squad depends on a heavy dose of the run to put up big offensive numbers (each school led their conference in rushing yardage). The Cowboys come into this contest with a 41.6 ppg average, with the Ducks slightly more potent at 41.9 ppg. Bet the Holiday Bowl at BetJamaica and get $100 FREE on your $100 deposit!
The OSU rushing attack is paced by their running back Kendall Hunter, who led the Big 12 conference with 1,518 rushing yards and 14 scores. Quarterback Zac Robinson provides the team with some balance as he threw for 2,735 yards and 24 touchdowns to only eight interceptions. Robinson has a deadly target in wideout Dez Bryant who caught 74 balls for 1,313 yards and 18 touchdowns this season.
Under center for the Ducks is Jeremiah Masoli. Masoli started the season as the third string quarterback but came in to throw for 1,486 yards and 12 touchdowns while only being picked off four times. Jeremiah Johnson is the real key to this offense though with 1,042 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on only 156 totes. His backfield mate, LeGarrette Blount, also chipped in 928 yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. Johnson had missed the last eight days of practice with hamstring and stomach problems, but all signs are pointing to him being ready to play in the Holiday Bowl.
With both offenses being able to move the ball, the winner of Tuesday’s game might be determined by which defense steps up. Both of these teams have struggled on that side of the ball lately, with the Cowboys being torched for 145 points in losing three of their last five games. Oklahoma State will also have to deal with the loss of defensive coordinator Tim Beckman, who will not be on the sidelines after bolting to take the head coaching job at Toledo.
Oregon has won three straight games, but that success was due to the offense and not a defense that allowed 111 points over that stretch. The unit struggled all year long in giving up 28 ppg.
