2009 AL Season Win Totals & MLB Odds

The baseball season is fast approaching and Sunday night the first pitch will be thrown and another season of baseball betting will officially begin. The Boston Red Sox are slated in at 94.5 wins, which is tied for the most with the New York Yankees. The dominance of the American League East is apparent with the team that has the third highest win total projected being the Tampa Bay Rays, who come in with an over/under of 89. Rounding out this division are the Toronto Blue Jays at 77.5 wins and the Baltimore Orioles with 72.5. It looks like once again the Wild Card will be coming out of the AL East, that is if these teams don’t beat each other up too much during the season.
In the AL Central the project win total leader is the Cleveland Indians with their number set at 85.5. The Minnesota Twins aren’t far behind with a line set at 83 wins, the Detroit Tigers are slated in with 81.5 wins, and the Chicago White Sox have slipped down to 77.5 wins. Surprisingly the White Sox are just ahead of the Kansas City Royals, who have their over/under listed at 77 wins.
Let’s finish off our look at the win projections by heading out West, where there is little doubt that the Angels are the team to beat. LA’s over/under is listed at 87.5 wins, followed by the Oakland A’s at 82 wins, the Texas Rangers are 74.5 wins, and the lowly Seattle Mariners with a projected win total of 73.
