2009 College Football Predictions: Big Ten
Written July 21, 2009 by Jack Jones
I was looking around today at some other 2009 Big Ten football predictions and found this article at the Major League Jerk. It’s pretty funny and that might make you not give the writer a whole lot of credit, but I feel that would be a mistake. The guy is right on about several things, including Ohio State being the front runner (despite losing their three most talented players), Penn State being the second best team (mainly because of an easy schedule), and Minnesota, Purdue, and Indiana not even being worth watching.
If you look at the Big Ten college football predictions that InfoPlays posted on our site, you will see a lot of similarties, plus the college football odds makers seem to be in agreeance as well. This conference should not be in the hunt for a national title, but will feature a pair of decent games when Ohio State takes on USC and when they square off against the Nittany Lions.
The Major Jerk is giving quite a bit of credit to Northwestern as a possible sleeper, but I see them finishing pretty poorly in the Big Ten. He also is giving Michigan a boost because they are the Wolverines and tradition says they can’t completely suck two years in a row, but I wouldn’t be so sure about that. This team is low on talent and Rich Rod will need a few years to get things turned around since a lot of players bailed when he came on board.
Anyway, the article is a good read and the light tone will help those of you who can’t really get up for studying college football in the middle of July a chance to get familiar with the conference while having a few laughs along the way. Remember though that when the season comes if you want to bet on football and make a little money in the process, then signing up for the college football picks here at BetFirms is your best bet.
