2009 NFL Divisional Playoff Trends

Last weekend the 2009 NFL playoffs got started with some thrilling games, and I’m expecting no less to take place this weekend. If you want to get in on the NFL betting action then take a look at some of the trends and handicapping info I have found on each game below. If you don’t have a place to bet, then I recommend reading our BetUS review to find out why we like their betting operation.

Baltimore Ravnes at Tennessee Titans

The Ravens looked pretty great last weekend when they took down the Dolphins 27-9 down in Miami. This week they get the no. 1 see in the AFC when they visit Tennessee to take on the Titans. Baltimore is rolling right now at 6-1 both SU and ATS over their last seven games, while Tennessee is 2-6 ATS in their last eight at home against the Ravens, and 1-4 SU the last five times Baltimore came to town. That one win though did come by the score of 13-10 at home in week 5 of this season. Get ready for a similar game this week as it should be close and low-scoring.

Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers

The Cardinals got past the Atlanta Falcons last week, 30-24, even though they were listed as a home underdog with the NFL odds. This Arizona team will get another shot at the Carolina Panthers this weekend, a team they lost to by a score of 27-23 back in Week 8. It seems like each team went in different directions since then, with the Cards fading down the stretch while the Panthers really hit their stride. The Cardinals are just 7-18 SU over their last 25 road games, while the total has gone OVER in 14 of their last 20 away from Arizona. Carolina has won five straight SU against Arizona and is 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 in front of the home crowd.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants

The Eagles looked pretty impressive against the Vikings last week when they went up to Minnesota and took the win. Now though they get the task of unseating the defending champions on their home turf as they head to New York. These two NFC East rivals split their seasonal matchups, with the Giants winning 36-31 back on November 9th and the Eagles coming out on top a month later, winning 20-14 on December 7th. Philly has won 11 of 15 ATS on the road while the UNDER has hit in five of the last six Eagles road games. The Giants are on a 4-1 ATS roll against the Eagles and have won six of nine straight up against Donovan McNabb and company.

San Diego Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers

The Chargers played an exciting game against the Indianapolis Colts last Saturday night and came away with the 23-17 overtime win. The Steelers might be in trouble with Ben Roethlisberger dealing with a concussion. San Diego was struggling int he middle of November only to come away with an 11-10 loss in Pittsburgh. That loss brought the Chargers to 3-8 ATS in their last 11 in the Steel City and 1-6 SU in their last 7 trips there. Pittsburgh closed out the year on a 5-1 ATS and 6-1 SU run.
