2009 NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket
Written March 16, 2009 by Jack Jones
With the field set for this year’s NCAA basketball tournament we wanted to provide you with a free bracket you can download or print to track all of your picks. Opening round games will be played Thursday, March 19th and Friday, March 20th. It’s hard to argue with the four teams picked as #1 seeds this year, but there are several other teams that deserved it just as much. The number one seeds this year are Louisville, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, and Connecticut. As I said, all teams are deserving, but having 3 teams from the Big East seems a little excessive. I think teams like Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Memphis could have also been included, but overall it looks like the selection committee did a pretty good job of handing out the top seeds. View and download or print our bracket. Note that you will probably want to print it in landscape view for the best results.
We hope that you are as excited as we are for this year’s tournament. With 32 games in two days, it’s hard not to be. Be sure to grab a copy of our bracket, fill it out, and enjoy all of the college basketball action over the next several days.
If you are looking for college basketball picks against the spread in this year’s tournament, be sure you visit our handicapppers each day to see what they have on the tournament games. The odds for the tournament have already been set for college basketball betting, so head over to our college basketball odds page to see which teams are favored by how much in the first round of the tournament.

Why isn’t MEMPHIS TIGERS a #1 seed they have the nations longest win streak why does the NCAA committee never gives us the benefit of the doubt Louisville and MEMPHIS are the hottest teams in the USA

Have you looked at your bracket? The team names should both be inside the first box! Draw inside the lines, kiddies! This looks amateurish.

Bill,
I would invite you to check ESPN and USA Today. I consider those professional sites and their bracket layouts are similar to ours. I’ve seen them both ways, but I do not see how it makes a difference. Is there some logic to why both teams should be placed the inside the box?

I think Penn State should’ve been in the tourney. I believe 7 big ten teams made it in and penn state had a better record than 4 or 5 of them. B.S. Anyway Louisville wins over Pitt in the final 73-66
