San Francisco 49ers vs. Buffalo Bills NFL Betting Odds & Spread
Written November 28, 2008 by Jason Lowry

The 6-5 Buffalo Bills will look to keep things going in the right direction this week when they host the 3-8 San Francisco 49ers. Last week the Bills whooped up on the the Chiefs 54-31, while the 49ers went into Dallas and got beat 35-22. With the Bills playing for their playoff lives, as the 49ers fight to show the future is bright for their fans. If you are looking to a little NFL betting on this weeks game, the oddsmakers have the Bills 6.5 point favorites at home over the 49ers at Bookmaker.com
Now the 49ers have really shown some life over the last 3 weeks, as they nearly beat the Cardinals in week 10, then killed the Rams, and last week they had their chances against the Cowboys. Quarterback Shaun Hill threw for 303 yards and 2 scores, as he hooked up 8 times with Isaac Bruce for 125 yards and a score. The big problem in this one was Frank Gore and the 49ers running game was no where to be found, as Gore led the way rushing with just 26 yards on 14 carries. Now this week they face another strong defense in the Bills, and if Gore can’t get the ground game going, its going to be a long day in Buffalo.
The 49ers defense has to love the fact that the Bills don’t have a combo like Tony Romo and Terrell Owens, as the duo hooked up 7 times for 213 yards and a score, as Romo pretty much did whatever he wanted throwing the football. The 49ers were solid against the ground game, as they held the Cowboys to just 74 yards and no scores. This week the key will be keeping a strong Bills rushing attack in check, as Marshawn Lynch has really picked it up over the last couple weeks. Now the Bills had lost 4 straight before beating the Chiefs, so there is no question the 49ers have a chance in this one. Bet 49ers +6.5 at Bookmaker.com
The Bills offense had been struggling during that 4 game losing streak, but you wouldn’t of guessed it if you watching them play Kansas City last week, as Trent Edwards not only threw for 273 yards and 2 scores, but added 2 more touchdowns on the ground. Lynch was solid running it for nearly 80 yards on 20 carries and another Bills touchdown. Now the Chiefs defense is depleted by injury, but you can’t take anything away from what the Bills did last week. Doing the same against the 49ers won’t be an easy task, but if Edwards plays like he did last week, the Bills are good enough to beat anyone.
The Bills defense also gave a bunch of points last week, as Chiefs Tyler Thigpen threw for 3 scores, and also got a touchdown toss from backup Quinn Gray. The Bills also gave up a number of big runs last week, including a 63 yard run by Larry Johnson, and they can’t let Gore have that kind of success this week. The Bills did do a good job of making plays, as they picked off Thigpen twice and forced 3 Chiefs fumbles. The Bills need this win, as a loss this week will likely send them back into the bottom of the AFC East. Bet Bills -6.5 at Bookmaker.com
