Air Force at Army Football Picks & Predictions

Written October 31, 2008 by Jay Todd

Air Force and Army square off in an all-armed forces match up. Air Force is coming off a nice win over a solid New Mexico team and has now won three games in a row. Army is coming off a big 14-7 win over Louisiana Tech. The college football odds on this game currently show Air Force is a 7.5 point favorite with the total set at 40.

Air Force once again brings a steady option attack offense to the table. They are averaging around 29 points per game on the season and have multiple weapons that can beat you. Tim Jefferson has done a great job filling in at the quarterback position. He averages 138.3 total yards per game and has scored three touchdowns in four games. Air Force has a ton of running backs that they will use. They have five players with over 50 carries on the season and six players with at least one rushing touchdown.

Army is much improved from previous years and plays a low-scoring defensive style of football. The Black Knights are allowing just 11 points per game in their three wins on the season. Army is going to give Air Force a heavy dose of the running game. Army running back Collin Mooney has rushed for 870 yards and six scores on the season. Like Air Force, Army has multiple running backs they can use, as they have six players with at least one rushing score.

Do not expect a lot of passing in this game. Both teams rely heavily on the running game and strong defense. Sign up for the college football picks from Jay Todd to see who he likes in this game and other games this Saturday.
