Anderson Silva v Dan Henderson
UFC 82 will entertain fans in what many are calling a dream match-up in the middleweight division. UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva will square off against PRIDE Middleweight Champion Dan “Hollywood” Henderson for the unification middleweight title. The championship fight is set to take place March 1 at the Nationwide Center in Columbus, Ohio. To add to this already hyped match-up, in many eyes Silva is the best middleweight fighter in the world with Henderson close behind. Lets take a closer look at each fighter, and what they bring to the fight. Also, we will give you our prediction on we think will come away victorious.

Silva has taken the UFC middleweight division by storm, and has left many wondering if he will ever be challenged. He is the best pound for pound fighter in the world, coming in at 6ft 2in weighing 185lbs. Silva has some of the best technique in the business, as he uses his ability to strike you with a punch, knee or kick before you know what hits you. He uses all three of these weapons in a wide range of combinations that confuse his opponents. In his five UFC fights four have ended by TKO and the other ending by submission, with no fight lasting longer than the second round. He has defeated Rich Franklin twice, Nathan Marquardt, Travis Lutter, and Chris Leben. He belongs to team Black House. He has an over MMA record of 20 – 4.
Dan Henderson +125 at BetUS
Henderson is considered one of the toughest guys at the middleweight division. He has held two PRIDE championships at once, one coming at 185lbs and the other at 205. Henderson is well known for his great wrestling ability, but has a right hand that has sent many men to the ground. Henderson who has spent most of his time fighting in PRIDE, fought against Quinton Jackson at UFC 75. Jackson won in unanimous decision. Fans should take into consideration that this was for the light heavyweight title at 205lbs. One of Henderson more surprising knockouts came against Wanderlei Silva last February at PRIDE 33. Henderson is said to be one of the few middleweight fighters left that match up against Silva. If he is unable to make a fight of it, many wonder if Silva will ever be beat again.

This fight has all the making to be one of the best fights in UFC history. While we think that Henderson might keep the fight close, we are going with the better overall fighter on this one. Silva has the chance to be the first fighter to knockout Henderson in mixed martial arts action. The thing is that is the case with most fighters before they step up against Silva. So with that said, we see this fight ending in a crowd pleasing TKO. I wouldn’t expect an early knockout though as Henderson can take his share of punishment. Look for by round 3 Henderson to weaken and fall to one of Silva’s devastating combinations.
