Arizona State at California Football Betting Lines

Arizona State is coming off back to back losses and a bye week against the Cal Bears. Look for Dennis Erickson to have his Sun Devils back on track this weekend. Look for ASU to regain their form of last year on the road. BetUS has California listed as 9-point favorites over Arizona State.
Arizona State has gotten off to a slow start to the 2008 season. However, look for them to be improved and hungry to pick up a huge Pac-10 win against Cal. Arizona State’s offense will look to score early and often against a Cal team that struggled to stop Michigan State and Maryland. There is no doubt ASU has a better passing attack and faster paced offense than both of these teams.
Rudy Carpenter has been solid so far this season and look for things only to get better this weekend. Carpenter has thrown for over 1100 yards already and seven touchdowns in just four games. He has also shown that he can take care of the ball and not force any stupid throws, as he has only tossed two picks this year. Cal gives us no reason to believe they will be able to stop the ASU passing attack. They gave up 321 yards to a Michigan State team that relies heavily on the run and allowed a well below average Maryland passing attack to complete nearly 80% of their passes. Look for Carpenter to put up huge numbers in a shootout against Cal.
There is really nothing to be said about either defense in this game. Both teams are going to score early and often and expect large amounts of points being put up. With that being said look for this to be a touchdown game in either directions. Play Arizona State to score with Cal this Saturday.
