The squad seemed to lack some consistency, as it never could get a good rhythm going – it did win five straight games early to get to 8-3 but then lost seven of nine later and ultimately fell in overtime in the first round of the ACC tournament....

Bears Eagles Odds - November 4, 2011

Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears are looking for a third straight victory when they meet up this week on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. While Lincoln Financial Field hasn’t been too kind to the Eagles of late, they are coming off a rare home win over the Dallas Cowboys. Now, they’ll be looking for revenge from a 26-31 road loss to the Bears last season. Jay Cutler threw four touchdown passes, and Matt Forte rushed for 117 yards on 14 carries to lead Chicago to victory. Each of...

Giants Patriots Odds - November 3, 2011

The New England Patriots host the New York Giants Sunday in a rematch of Super Bowl XLII. The Patriots were unbeaten heading into that game following the 2007 season, and the Giants pulled off a stunning 17-14 upset. Eli Manning led a 12-play, 83-yard drive in the final few minutes that ended in a game-winning touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress. Can they pull off another improbable upset this weekend? Odds makers have installed New England as 9-point home favorites with a total set of 51 points. New...

Bengals Titans Spread - November 3, 2011

Two of the biggest surprises this season have been the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans. These two meet up Sunday in Tennessee in a key AFC showdown in Week 9. Both squads are only a half-game out of the lead in their respective divisions. This will be the first meeting between these teams since a 24-7 road victory by the Titans in 2008. The Bengals won their last visit to Nashville 31-23 back in ‘05. Taking a look at the spreads for Week 9, I find a line of Tennessee -3 over Cincinnati...

49ers Redskins Odds - November 3, 2011

The San Francisco 49ers head east Sunday to take on the Washington Redskins. The 49ers have to travel clear across country to the nation‘s capital, which is never an easy task for any team. San Francisco is 17-10-1 all-time against Washington, including a 27-24 home victory in their most recent meeting in 2008. Odds makers believe the 49ers will continue their surge with a win over the Redskins Sunday. The sportsbooks in Las Vegas have posted a line of San Francisco -3.5 over Washington and a total...

Stanford at Oregon State Spread - November 3, 2011

Stanford can exhale, for now. After a huge win last week and a big game next week against a fellow top-19 resident, this week’s contest would qualify as a “trap game” for the Cardinal. The nation’s longest winning streak on the line as Stanford takes its 16-game run to Corvallis to face Oregon State Saturday afternoon. Stanford has won 49 of 77 all-time meetings, but is just 3-7 in the last 10 meetings. Oregon State has won the last two games in Corvallis, in 2009 and 2007. Stanford however,...

Army at Air Force Line - November 3, 2011

The service academies are back at one another this week, competing for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy. Air Force took the first step toward winning another trophy, while Army plays its first game in this competition this Saturday when it visits Colorado Springs. Do you want to see a football game be finished in less than 2 ½ hours? You just might this week, as two of the three best running teams in the country go head-to-head. The clock should run – often. Army has not won the Commander-in-Chief’s...

Vanderbilt at Florida Lines - November 2, 2011

Based on past history, Florida’s chances at a 23rd Homecoming win in 24 years might seem assured, but Vanderbilt won’t go quietly. Both teams are going through losing runs right now and both could use a boost by getting a win to draw a little closer to bowl eligibility. Florida has won 21 consecutive meetings with Vanderbilt, the last loss coming in 1988 in Nashville. Overall, UF has won 33 of 44 all-time meetings, losing just once at home – the very first meeting in 1945. The Week 10 college...

Buccaneers Saints Spread - November 2, 2011

Off an embarrassing loss to the previously winless St. Louis Rams last weekend, the New Orleans Saints look to take out their frustrations on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 9 Sunday. The Saints will also be looking for revenge from a 26-20 road loss to the Bucs back on October 16th. Tampa Bay forced four turnovers, including three interceptions from Drew Brees in that game. Josh Freeman threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns to outduel Brees. Odds makers have set a line of New Orleans -9 over Tampa...

Falcons Colts Odds - November 2, 2011

The Atlanta Falcons return from their bye Sunday in search of their first road victory over the winless Indianapolis Colts. They are coming off consecutive wins, and this is certainly their best chance to end what has been a tough history when matched up with Indy. Atlanta has dropped three straight to the Colts since a 28-21 home win back in 1998. In fact, that was their only win in 14 meetings all-time, and they have lost all six trips to Indianapolis and Baltimore. Taking a look at the lines for...

Missouri at Baylor Odds - November 1, 2011

The Baylor Bears host the Missouri Tigers Saturday in another potential Big 12 shootout. Missouri had won seven straight in this series before a 40-32 home loss to the Bears in their most recent meeting in 2009. Robert Griffin III was out with an injury for that game, but backup quarterback Nick Florence came in and threw for 427 yards and three touchdowns. 2011 first-round pick Blaine Gabbert threw for 468 yards and two scores for the Tigers. Kickoff is set for 7:00 EST on FSN Saturday. Odds makers...

Texas A&M at Oklahoma Spread - November 1, 2011

Two teams that many expected to compete for a Big 12 title meet up Saturday in Week 10 college football action. The sixth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners host the Texas A&M Aggies in a rematch from last year’s 33-19 upset victory by A&M. Ryan Tannehill threw for 225 yards and two touchdowns, while Cyrus Gray rushed for 122 yards and a score. It was a rare win in this series for the Aggies, who had lost their previous seven meetings. While this game still means a lot to both schools, it has a lot...

Central Michigan at Kent State Odds - November 1, 2011

There’s not much more than pride on the line Thursday when the Central Michigan Chippewas visit the Kent State Golden Flashes in MAC play. The Chippewas are in last place in the MAC West division, while the Golden Flashes are in fifth place in the East. Since they are in opposite divisions, these teams rarely face each other. They have only squared off three times since the turn of the century, with CMU winning the last two. Central Michigan has won eight of the last 10 in this series, including...
