The 2008 Belmont Stakes is just around the corner as the final leg of the Triple Crown is set to take place June 7th at Belmont Park. One way to make a horse race even more exciting is to place a wager on the race. While its always fun to place a bet on the race itself, there are other ways you can add a little cash to the wallet during a given event. Will Big Brown win the Triple Crown?
This just might be the bet you are looking for if you don’t think that the undefeated Big Brown has what it takes to win the Belmont Stakes. While all signs from the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes point to him winning the race, if you take a look at history there have been more horses fail to win the Triple Crown than actually coming through after winning the first two races. Bet Yes.

If you want our opinion in this one take the 1-5 lengths in this one. The greater distance will likely give some of the others horses a chance to catch up and making it closer at the end, but bet on this at your own risk as Big Brown must win for you to even have a chance.

We are going to go out on a limb on this one and say that Big Brown will in fact beat the time of Affirmed. I wouldn’t bet the bank on this one, but we got a good feeling that Big Brown has what it takes to dominate this race like he has every other.
Will the total all sources handle for Belmont Stakes exceed the record $114,887,994 wagered in 2004 when Smart Jones attempted to win the Triple Crown?
We are going with the underdog on this one, as we really feel that there are going to be a ton of bets placed on this race. The majority of bets will be placed on Big Brown winning, but with they’re plenty of options look for the numbers to roll over that of 2004.
Will a member of the Clinton Family (Bill, Hilary, or Chelsea) attend the 2008 Belmont Stakes?
We are agreeing with the odds makers on this one on saying that at least one Clinton will show up to the race in New York. This is more of a fun prop bet and there are a few others such as will Mayor Bloomberg attend the race.
Who will jockey Kent Desormeaux thank first upon being interviewed after the 2008 Belmont Stakes?

This is pretty much up in the air, but if we had to pick we would go with God/Jesus on this one. It is the safest pick on the board and with the amount of emotion Desormeaux will be feeling if he is able to win the race you don’t know for sure what will come out of his mouth. The favorite of him saying family is also a pretty safe bet, but you have to bet a lot more to win on that one.
