Bengals Browns Football

There won’t be to many people outside of the fans for the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals watching the game when these two teams square off this Sunday, as neither team has done much to get you excited to watch them. Last week the Browns got beat up by the Eagles 30-10, while the Bengals finally showed some life continued to give the NFC East problems, as they handed the Redskins a 20-13 loss in a game the Redskins needed greatly. For those of you looking to do a little NFL betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Browns 3 point favorites at home over the Bengals at Bookmaker.com

The Bengals haven’t had a lot to cheer about, but they definitely gave fans something to be happy about after beating the Redskins last week. The Bengals got a big time performance from running back Cedric Benson who not only ran it 21 times for 73 yards, he also had 88 yards receiving. Ryan Fitzpatrick had one of his better days throwing the football, as he completed 16 of 29 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown strike to Chris Henry. Now its hard to imagine the Bengals actually winning two straight, but with the way this team played last week, you have to think they have a good shot against the Browns.

The Bengals defense also played well last week, as they allowed just 13 points, and the only touchdown came in the 2nd quarter on a 12 yard pass from Jason Campbell to Santana Moss. The Bengals had a number of big plays and the biggest came on a fumble recovery by linebacker Corey Mays in the Bengals endzone. Now the stopping the Browns is a little easier than it once was, as they continue to rely on their 3rd string quarterback, and you have to think if the defense plays like it did last week, the Bengals can win this game. The Browns most recent loss to the Eagles was loss number 4 in a row, and they didn’t even look like they had a chance against the Eagles from the start. The offense failed to score a touchdown in this one, and the only points this unit put on the board was 3 points by kicker Phil Dawson. Ken Dorsey had a rough go in this one, as he completed just 11 of 28 passes for 156 yards with no scores and 2 interceptions, and was sacked twice. The running game wasn’t much of anything to talk about, as they had just 57 yards in this one. Now Braylon Edwards did go over a 100 yards receiving for just the 3rd time this season, and he now has as many 100 yard games as he does touchdowns. The Browns will likely try and get the running game going in this one, and it wouldn’t help for Edwards to start scoring like they had though he would after the season he had last year.

The Browns defense got picked apart by Donavon McNabb and the Eagles, as the Eagles let McNabb throw for 290 yards and 2 scores, but the Eagles did have 3 interceptions against 3 different players, including two by Brandon McDonald, one of those he took back 24 yards for the Browns only touchdown of the game early in the 4th. Now the defense should have a better go at home and against a Bengals teams that seems to be hit or miss this season at best, but we just aren’t sure what to expect from the Browns as well.
