Cincinnati Bengals vs. Washington Redskins NFL Betting Odds & Spread

It doesn’t look good for the Washington Redskins postseason chances this season, as there are just too many teams ahead of them in the playoff chase, but lucky for them they should be able to get a win this weekend when they take on the 1-11-1 Cincinnati Bengals, who got crushed last week by the Colts 35-3. Now the Redskins come in at 7-6, and had they just been able to beat the Ravens last week they would be right in the thick of things, but instead wound up losing 10-24. For those of you looking to do a little NFL betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have the Redskins 6.5 point favorites on the road over the Bengals at Bookmaker.com
The Redskins offense comes into the game this week with a little bit of problem going on between quarterback Jason Campbell and running back Clinton Portis, and though they say these two guys have worked out their problems, we know better than to think everything has been solved just like that. Last week against the Ravens Campbell threw for 218 yards and a score, but had to costly interceptions to go along with it, and Portis and the running game wasn’t much better, as Portis had just 32 yards on 11 carries. Now Portis did practice this week on Wednesday but was out on Thursday, but we still expect to see this guy on the field come game time. Look for the problems to go aside for at least a week, as they should be able to beat the Bengals pretty easily this week.
The Redskins defense didn’t get much help last week, as the offense turned it over and let the Ravens defense put points on the board. The Redskins only allowed rookie Joe Flacco to throw for 134 yards and forced an interception, but did allow around 150 on the ground. Now the Bengals have only scored 29 points over the last 4 games, and if the defense allows this team to get it going it won’t be the offense everyone is complaining about after this one. Now we already mentioned how bad the Bengals offense has been over the past month, but they have scored just 3 points in each of their last two games. and last week it was pretty ugly as Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jordan Palmer combined to throw 3 interceptions and get sacked 4 times. Both Chad Johnson and TJ Hoshmandzadeh were solid each gaining at least 75 yards, but neither could bust open one for a huge play. The running game wasn’t much to speak of either, as they had just 82 yards on the ground. Now getting things going against the Redskins won’t be easy, and its hard to imagine just where it would come from in this offense.
The Bengals defense have played better than you might expect this season, but they didn’t have a very good day last week against Peyton Manning and the Colts, as Manning threw for 3 touchdowns and another score on the ground. Now the offense gave up a score as well, but its just to much to ask of this defense to come out and when this team games. We could see a strong performance from these guys this week in front of the home crowd, but we don’t think it will be near enough to pull off the upset. Bet Cincinnati Bengals +6.5 at Bookmaker.com
