It’s one of the best times of the year as this weekend millions of people will tune in to watch college basketball, bet on the tournament via office pools, and try to beat the NCAA basketball odds on the games. This is one of the most anticipated times of the year and the analysts over at BetUS have gone beyond the normal spreads and totals to post lines on anything and everything to do with the tournament. If you want to bet on college basketball, then sign up at BetUS where a $500 deposit will net you an extra $500 in bonus money if you tell them BetFirms sent you.
Team Most Likely to Get in a Brawl – I’m not quite sure why the odds makers think there is a possibility of a fight during the tournament. Whether it’s the pressure of losing and being done or just all the hype that goes into getting ready for the opener, but leading the way here is Siena at 2/1, followed by Maryland at 3/1, Syracuse, Michigan State, UConn, and Texas A&M at 4/1, with Gonzaga, Boston College and Marquette listed at 5/1. Is it just me or does Devendorf for Syracuse look like a meth head who would stab you just for looking at him funny? If I had to choose, I’d have to go with Syracuse just because of him.
Coach Most Likely to Get Ejected – This seems like a better bet, since I pretty clearly remember Larry Eustachy for Iowa State getting bounced out in the Elite 8 when they were playing Michigan State. The odds here are as follows: Tim Floyd (USC, ex-Iowa State coach as well) at 2/1, Trent Johnson (LSU) and Jim Calhoun (UConn) at 3/1, Roy Williams (North Carolina) at 4/1, Jim Boeheim (Syracuse), Leonard Hamilton (Florida State), John Calipari (Memphis), and Jim Boylen (Utah) at 5/1. Rounding out the bunch are Rick Pitino (Louisville) and Tom Izzo (Michigan State) at 6/1 and Mike Krzyzewski (Duke) at 8/1.
Tournament’s Leading Scorer – It’s a shame no Davidson so Stephen Curry is left for the NIT. That leaves us with Blake Griffin (Oklahoma) at 2/1, Tyler Hansbrough (North Carolina) at 5/2, Sherron Collins (Kansas) at 7/2, Kyle Singler (Duke), Marcus Thornton (LSU), and James Harden (Arizona State) at 4/1, Jeff Teague (Wake Forest), Sam Young (Pittsburgh), and Toney Douglas (Florida State) at 5/1, Jerel McNeal (Marquette) at 6/1, Manny Harris (Michigan), Jonny Flynn (Syracuse), and DeMarre Carroll (Missouri) at 8/1, Chase Budinger (Arizona), De’Sean Butler (West Virginia), Jerome Randle (Califronia), and Dante Cunningham (Villanova) at 10/1.
First Technical – Which coach will be the first to get T’d up? The favorite is Tim Floyd at 2/1, followed by Fran McCaffery at 5/2, Jim Boeheim at 3/1, with Thad Matta and Jim Calhoun both at 4/1.
Team Most Likely to Bet Upset – Kansas and Michigan State aren’t getting much love with 3/1 odds followed closely by Oklahoma State, Utah, and California at 4/1. Washington and Marquette are both at 5/1 with UConn listed at 8/1.
Here are a couple of interesting numbers posted. Odds you fill out your bracket 100% correct is 1 in 150 million and the odds of there being no upsets in the first two rounds are 1 in 13.2 million.
