Big East College Basketball Power Rankings

Written by -

The Big East Conference is a BEAST this year in College Basketball. How many teams with this conference get into the Big Dance? They should get a plenty and trust me it’s well deserved. The Big East could get at least 10 teams in the tournament, possibly 11 or how about even 12 teams in the Big Dance from one conference. It could happen this year but it’s doubtful with all the automatic bids from the weaker conferences. We’ll keep our eyes open down the stretch to see how the bottom of the Big East does.  Be sure to check on our college basketball spreads for the night view all of the odds and see which lines have moved so far today.

My power ratings for the Big East heading into the weekend here on February 4, 2011 are as follows:

1. Pittsburgh 91.19

2. Notre Dame 89.33

3. Georgetown 89.28

4. West Virginia 88.87

5. Marquette 88.19

6. Louisville 88.11

7. Villanova 87.92

8. Connecticut 87.4

9. Syracuse 86.49

10. Seton Hall 85.08

11. St. John’s 84.65

12. Cincinnati 83.42

13. Providence 82.06

14. Rutgers 80.39

15. South Florida 77.46

16. Depaul 67.34

The Big East is a BEAST! That is an understatement this year compared to the other conferences. The ACC is down big time this year. The SEC is down big time this year. The Big 10 may have 3 fairly decent teams. The Big 12 has a few decent teams. The Pac 10 is down this year. The Mountain West could possibly be the 2nd or 3rd best conference in the nation this year. That says a lot! Keep an eye on this Big East conference though! Should be fun down the stretch!
