Buffalo Bills at St. Louis Rams Week 4 NFL Odds
Written September 25, 2008 by Jack Jones

Two teams that couldn’t have gotten off to more different starts will hit the field when the Buffalo Bills head to St. Louis to take on the Rams. No Buffalo team has gotten off to a faster start since the glory days of heading to four straight Super Bowls back in the early 90s. For the Rams, things have never looked so bad. The experts think you’ll see more of the same as the Bills are 8-point favorites over the Rams with a total set at 42.
This 3-0 start for Buffalo is even more surprising when you take a look at the recent history: three straight losing seasons and no playoff appearances in almost ten years. Last week they squeaked by the Oakland Raiders after trailing for most of the game, but 17 fourth quarter points and a 38-yard field goal as time expired by Rian Lindell secured a 24-23 win.
Quarterback Trent Edwards continues to prove he’s a solid signal caller in this league. The second-year player out of Stanford went 24-for-39 passing for 279 yards, but it was his fourth quarter line of 14-for-19, 182 yards and a touchdown that was most impressive. When the game was on the line they turned to Edwards and he delivered.
Running back Marshawn Lynch still isn’t completely back to last season form, but he did have 83 yards and two touchdowns. He has scored in all three of Buffalo’s games this year, even though his yardage is down a little bit.

With those two second-year players performing, and Tom Brady out for New England, it seems that Buffalo is the team to beat in the AFC East. In fact, the Bills are the first team other than the Patriots to hold an outright lead in the division in over three years. You can bet on the Bills -8 at BetUS and get up to 135% in signup bonuses!
While the Bills are getting solid quarterback play out of Edwards, the same can’t be said for the Rams, who come in at 0-3 and have benched Marc Bulger in favor of Trent Green. Green was with the Rams way back in 1999, when he was injured in the final preseason game only to be replaced by Kurt Warner. Warner then came in and led the team to their only Super Bowl win. He then spent six years in Kansas City and one in Miami, but is back in St. Louis to try to turn this offense around.
Through three weeks the Rams are one of the worst offensive teams in the league, putting up a total of 29 points when no other NFC team has less than 50. It seems like nothing is going right for this team, as they are also giving up a league-leading 116 points. The Rams have lost every one of their games by 24 points or more, including a 37-13 beating by a winless Seahawk team last Sunday.
Not even running back Steven Jackson can get going when things are this bad, but he did has 128 yards last week. He just can’t find any holes behind an offensive line that is struggling to open up holes or protect the quarterback.
