Buffalo Bills vs. St Louis Rams NFL Preview & Prediction
Written September 26, 2008 by Jason Lowry

This weekend the Buffalo Bills (3-0) will try and remain undefeated, and in doing so they will attempt to keep the St Louis Rams (0-3) winless. So while the Rams remain one of the worse teams in the league, the Bills are the surprise leader of the AFC East. Rams coach Scott Linehan sent a message to his team this week when he named Trent Green the starting quarterback over Marc Bulger, who just hasn’t produced this season. With the Bills looking so good and the Rams looking so bad, its no surprise that the odds makers see Buffalo as 8 point favorites over St Louis at BetUS.com.
The Bills will attempt to go 4-0 for the first time since 1992, when they wound up in the Super Bowl. The Bills have been solid all around this season, and the offense has done it share so far with 2nd year players Trent Edwards and Marshawn Lynch leading the way. Edwards is completing 67% of his passes and has just one interception on the season. Lynch has been a beast and continues to produce, as he has 4 touchdowns already. Lee Evans seems to have found that magic that had him on the way to becoming the next big thing at receiver as he has 244 yards in the first 3 games, but has yet to find the endzone. That will likely change this weekend, as the Rams have gave up a whopping 116 points in just 3 games.

The Bills defense has been pretty solid this season, and really turned it on last week as the Bills staged a late comeback against the Raiders. Where the Bills have been at their best is stopping the run, as they haven’t given up a 100 yard rusher, and are allowing teams just 93 yards a game. Look for the Bills to put plenty of pressure on Green, who has yet to be find his form after that crushing hit he took a couple years back when he was playing for the Chiefs. The Rams haven’t been good at all this season, and Bulger isn’t the only one finding it hard to get it going. Once 2,000 yard all around back Steven Jackson has had zero success running the ball and hasn’t got much of anything going at catching balls out of the backfield. The Rams have just 2 touchdowns through the air on the entire season, and it doesn’t look good for this team. After they get done with the Bills, they have to play Washington, Dallas, and New England in a row, and all 3 have solid defenses. Green will try and get this offense rolling, but in order for it to get going, Jackson has to be able run the ball with more success. This all starts with the offensive line, who just haven’t got the job done so far.
The Rams defense is stuck on the field for most of the game, and thats not a good thing with the way unit has been playing. It doesn’t matter how bad your offense is you shouldn’t be giving up nearly 40 points a game in the NFL. The Bills offense has been known to stall at times, and if the Rams can keep Lynch from running all over them, they just might be able to keep this one close. If you think the Rams have what it takes at home, Bet St Louis +8 at BetUS.com
Professional handicapper Jason Lowry, isn’t so sure on just how good this Bills team is, but he is set on the fact that the Rams are bad, very bad. This game will be over by half and the Bills will destroy the NFL betting odds, Buffalo 31 – St Louis 16.
