Marshall Benched For Being Late

Written January 4, 2010 by Jason Lowry

Sources at ESPN are reporting that Brandon Marshall was benched for showing up late to a therapy session for his injured hamstring. It was believed by many members of the team that Marshall was not as injured as he was making it seem, and Denver Bronco’s head coach Josh McDaniels was having no part in the drama that the wide receiver was bringing to the team.

Unfortunately for the Broncos Marshall is their best offensive weapon, and having him sit on the sideline greatly hurt their chances of winning Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. As we all know by now, the Broncos went on to get blown out by the Chiefs 44-24, and after a 6-0 start the Broncos must now watch the playoffs from the comfort of their own living rooms.

For those that think McDaniels is crazy for benching Marshall, it appears that the rest of the team backs his move, and it’s very likely that we have seen the last of Marshall as a Denver Bronco.

The Broncos have a lot to take care of before the start of the 2010 season, as they need to get more weapons on offense and the defense needs improvement. NFL spreads are not likely to have the Broncos picked to win the AFC West next season, unless some major offseason moves take place.
