Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers NFL Betting Odds & Spread

Steelers Browns Football

In what many thought would be a game to possibly decide the division, when the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers square off in the final game of the regular season, it will likely turn to a game of Browns starters vs. the Steelers backups. There is a good chance that the Steelers starters play a little bit in this one, but with a playoff spot secured its hard to imagine head coach Mike Tomlin keeping his stars on the field for the whole game. So that means this is going to be a very winnable game for the Browns this Sunday, but this is the same Browns team that got shutout by the Bengals 0-14 last week. For those of you looking to do some NFL betting this weekend, the oddsmakers still have the Steelers 10.5 point favorites over the Browns at BetUS.com.

The Browns come into this losers of 5 straight, but they have lost 10 straight to the Steelers, including a hard fought 6-10 loss back in week 2 this season. Last week the offense was ugly, as Ken Dorsey continued to look bad throwing the football. Dorsey had just 68 yards passing with 3 interceptions, and backup Bruce Gradkowski wasn’t much better in his 8 attempts throwing another interception to the Bengals defense. The Browns were able to run the ball for 137 yards, as Jamal Lewis led the way with 76 yards on 16 carries. The problem that this team faces this week, is that by the time the Steelers reserves hit the field, this game could be a 20 point game favoring the Steelers, as you can’t expect this unit to do much of anything against the Steelers starting defense.

Even looking at the Browns defense its hard telling just how this unit is going to keep the Steelers from putting up 14 in the first couple quarters, and last week they let Cedric Benson run for 171 yards on 38 carries, as the Bengals threw the ball just 9 times the whole game. The defense did give the Steelers offense some trouble earlier this season, and if they can find a way to repeat that performance, you have to like their chances of at least keeping this one respectable. Bet Cleveland Browns +10.5 at BetUS.com.

The Steelers 5 game winning streak was snapped last week, as the Titans ran all over them for a 31-14 win. The Steelers offense struggled to move the football last week, as they were pretty much stuck to throwing the football. The running game for the Steelers has went downhill in a hurry, as they were able to manage just 71 yards on 24 carries, and this unit only has really struggled to run the ball of late, as they have just 174 yards from their running backs over the last 3 games. As for throwing the football, Ben Roethlisberger was under a ton of pressure in this one, but still managed to throw for 331 yards and 2 scores, but also had 2 big interceptions in this one. We look for the offense to try and find its groove against the Browns this Sunday, and you have to think the running game will get it going after the success Benson had against this unit last week.

The Steelers defense has been a force all season, but last week they got pushed around by the Titans, as the Titans became the first team to gain over 300 yards of total offense on this unit. You would expect the Titans success to come on the ground, but it was actually Kerry Collins and the passing game that got the Titans offense rolling. Collins threw for 216 yards and a score, while Chris Johnson and LenDale White combined for 117 yards and 2 scores. We expect this unit to come out with a point to prove early, and that is bad news for Dorsey, or whoever steps in at Browns quarterback. Bet Pittsburgh Steelers -10.5 at BetUS.com.
