Bucks Redd Tears ACL and MCL Again
Written January 12, 2010 by Jason Lowry
The Milwaukee Bucks suffered a huge blow to their chances of making the playoffs this season, as ESPN is reporting that guard Michael Redd has torn his MCL and ACL for the second straight season. Redd suffered the season ending injury in Sundays loss against the Los Angeles Lakers. Redd will have surgery and begin yet another rehab assignment to get back to the NBA next season.
Because of the knee injury Redd had only played in 18 games this season, and was no where near the player he was before the knee problems, averaging just under 12 points a game. Luckily for the Bucks, they struck gold with rookie Brandon Jennings, who has surprised everyone with his play this season.
The Bucks are actually a better team without Redd on the floor this season, as they had a 6-12 mark when Redd was playing, and a 9-7 record without him. While the Bucks might have a better record, I don’t think this team is as good as it would be with a healthy Redd suited up. The loss of Redd won’t have a huge impact on the Bucks NBA odds for the rest of the season, as the team has pretty much played without him for most of the season.
