Buffalo vs. Bowling Green Odds
Written by Jason Lowry

This Friday the Buffalo Bulls(6-4) will look to secure an East division title in MAC conference football play, when they take on the Bowling Green Falcons(5-5) at their place. Last week the Bulls needed more than fours to beat Akron, as the Bulls managed to win 43-40 in the 4th overtime against Akron. The Falcons also were winners in their last game, as they went on the road and beat up on Ohio 28-3. For those of you looking to do some football betting this weekend, the oddsmakers have Bowling Green 3.5 point favorites at home over the Bulls.
Buffalo had quite the offensive outburst last week against Akron, as the Bulls totaled over 475 yards of offense in this one. They had quite a solid balance with the run and the pass, as they had 224 on the ground and 252 in the passing game. James Starks led the way on the ground with 151 on 37 carries and 3 scores, but also got a good game out of Brandon Thermilus with 59 yards on 8 carries. Quarterback Drew Willy added a 1 yard touchdown run to his 225 yards and a touchdown through the air. The Buffalo offense will have to bring it again this week, and we think they will do just that.
Now we know Buffalo is on the road this week, but if the Bulls defense can’t find a way to get pumped about being the underdog when they are leading their division against the same Bowling Green team, then this team deserves to lose this week. Last week they were able to win on the road, but the defense didn’t help matters giving up nearly just as many yards as their offense racked up, as they too had no answer for the run or the pass. This week it could be more of the same, as the Falcons have scored 73 combined points in their last 2 games.
If Bowling Green can pull off the win this weekend, they have a really good shot at sneaking past everyone for the division crown. In their last game against Ohio the Falcons quarterback Tyler Sheehan not only threw for two touchdowns, he also caught a 22 yard pass from running back Andrew Beam, who also added another score on a 2 yard touchdown run. Sheehan was the Falcons main offense throwing for 207 yards, while the running game had its struggles totaling just 93 yards on the ground. One problem with Falcons this year, is they are just 1-3 at home, as there only win came against Kent State on Nov. 1st.
The Falcons defense made sure a bad Ohio team had no hopes of pulling off the upset last week, as this unit allowed just 228 total yards and just a 3rd quarter field goal. Ohio had just 40 yards on the ground and did have much better luck throwing the ball, as Ohio quarterback Boo Jackson helped out matter with 2 interceptions. The defense better come to play, as this team has a chance to make up to its home crowd all the disappointing losses it has had to start the season.
Got something to say?
