Georgia vs Florida Football Betting Odds & Spread

Editors Note: Jason Lowry has a big play going in this one, as he is letting betters grab this SEC game by itself or part of a complete NCAA weekend package.
This week two of the SEC’s best will fight to stay alive in the SEC East, as the No. 5 Florida Gators take on the No. 8 Georgia Bulldogs, as both teams are currently tied for the lead in the division at 4-1, and a loss for either team will make it hard to come back and overtake the other. Even though the game is at Georgia, the oddsmakers got the Gators 5.5 point favorites on the road over the Bulldogs at Sportsbook.com
First we will take a look at the Florida Gators who are coming off one heck of a performance last week against Kentucky as they manhandled the Wildcats 63-5, and this team looks likes its on a mission to get back into the title hunt. Tim Tebow ran it 9 times for 48 points and 2 scores, while he still had a good day through the air throwing for 180 yards and 2 more score, in less than a full game of action. Star wideout/running back Percy Harvin was all over the place early as he first a 16 yard run for a score, and followed it up with a 33 yards reception for the Gators next TD. There will no question Tebow and Harvin will have to bring it this week, as they Bulldogs defense has the talent to really shutdown an opposing offense.

The Gators also have that ability on the other side of the ball, as they have really played well since giving up 31 to Mississippi in the teams only loss of the season. Last week they gave up just 268 yards of total offense to the Wildcats, and the starters really never let the Wildcats do much of anything the whole game. This week the key will be stopping a very balanced Bulldogs offense, and most importantly keeping Knowshon Moreno in check. Bet Florida -5.5 at Sportsbook.com
Georgia comes into this one off an offensive explosion scoring 52 points against an LSU defense that many thought were better than what they showed. Quarterback Mathwe Stafford threw for 249 yards and 2 scores, and also added another touchdown with a 7 yard run. Knowshon Moreno was at his best against the Tigers, as he ran it for 163 yards including a 68 yard touchdown run. Moreno has to get it going this weekend against the Gators, or they will key on Stafford making it rough for the offense to move the football.
The Bulldogs defense really helped the offense out last week, and most notably was the play of Darryl Gamble who had 2 interception returns for touchdowns. Considering the Tigers ran it 41 times, the fact that the Bulldogs only gave up 188 makes it a little more respectable. The Gators will get their yards in this one, and the key is obviously to stop Tebow and make him one dimensional, and hope that thats enough to keep them in the game.
