Cavs Magic Game 4 Betting

Written May 26, 2009 by Jack Jones

cavs-magic-game-4-bettingThe Orlando Magic take a 2-1 series lead into tonight’s Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Amway Arena in another JustBet Sportsbook classic NBA betting match-up. The Magic dominated the Cavs on Sunday taking a 99-89 win to hold serve on their home floor. The oddsmakers prove once again they have no clue in this series who is going to come out on top by making Game 4 a pick ‘em contest, but where dead on with the ‘total’ set at 188,  exactly where it landed. JustBet currently has the Cavs as -1.5 point favorites for tonight’s game.

The Cavaliers continued to show me why I took the Magic in six with their sorry performance in Game 3. Before this series began the Cavs were a ridiculous -715 ‘favorite’ to head to the NBA Finals which is looking like more of a dream than a reality at this point. Cavs F LeBron James is the only reason this series is 2-1 instead of 3-0 for the Magic thanks to his game-winning shot in Game 2 on Friday. “King James” is starting to look more and more like “King Nothing” with his horrible 11-of-28 shooting performance on Sunday. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great player, but he is all the Cavs have and will be watching Orlando play in the NBA Finals if he can’t average 50 PPG in this series. Cleveland is just 3-13 ATS against Orlando in the L/16 meetings including 0-3 ATS in this series.

The Magic didn’t win pretty on their home floor Sunday and are due for a break out game there on Tuesday. The O-town boys managed 99 points, but the key for them was shooting 39-of-51 (77%) from the free-throw line. Surprisingly the “Hack-A-Howard” tactic didn’t work with C Dwight Howard going 14-of-19 at the line. Magic F Hedo Turkoglu has yet to find his stroke at home in these playoffs and scored 13 points on just 1-of-11 shooting in Game 4. If “Turk” finally finds his stroke on Tuesday the Cavs could be in for a long night trying to stop the Magic’s offense. Orlando is an astounding 9-1 ATS in its L/10 contests with Cleveland.

With this game being a pick ‘em contest the ATS numbers are really thrown out the window and the most important stat to see is that the Magic are 10-4 SU in the L/14 contests with the Cavs. Those of you following the NBA odds closely can expect to see Orlando take out Cleveland and gain an insurmountable 3-1 lead in this series on Tuesday.  One of the NBA picks the insiders at JustBet are offering on this game is to take the Magic +1.5.
