Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson vs. James Thompson

Ferguson -600 at Bodoglife.com

Thompson +400 at Bodoglife.com

Slice is one of the most popular MMA fighters today, for his ridiculous strength and style that makes it so entertaining to watch him. The former backyard brawler went strictly to MMA fighting in 2006 and has remained undefeated knocking out every opponent he has faced. Thompson is a former PRIDE fighter with a 14-8 MMA record. Thompson has pulled off an upset before against Hidehiko Yoshida, and will need another big time performance or he will be out cold by the end of the first round.

Winner: Kimbo Slice

Gina Carano vs. Kaitlin Young

Carano -450 at Bodoglife.com

Young +300 at Bodoglife.com

Not only do you get prime time men’s fighting Elite XC pays its respect to the opposite gender when you see Kaitlin Young take on Gina Carano. Young has a MMA record of 4-1 and has a style that includes jiu-jitsu, combat wrestling, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and Tae kwon do. Carano is a muay thai specialist and has a 5-0 record in MMA. Carano’s striking skills are the best of any woman we have seen, and is a real force in the ring.

Winner: Gina Carano

Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith

Lawler -220 at Bodoglife.com

Smith +180 at Bodoglife.com

Lawler is the current EliteXC Middleweight Champion and will be putting that title up for grabs against Smith. Lawler is has a 15-4 MMA record and is known for his relentless attacks and extreme aggressive style. Smith doesn’t have the fighting background that Lawler has, but is one tough guy that has a legit shot at taking home the belt. While we like Smith and what he brings to the table, we aren’t going against Lawler.

Winner: Robbie Lawler

Phil Baroni vs. Joey Villasenor

Baroni -125 at Bodoglife.com

Villasenor -105 at Bodoglife.com

Baroni is known as the New York Bad Ass and is a fighter that many love to love and love to hate. Baroni uses his boxing and wrestling skills to take out opponents, but he has only been so so going 10-9 in MMA. Villasenor is a much more experienced fighter with a 25-6 MMA record. Even with the better record they are making Villasenor the underdog in this fight. This is one of the closer fights of the night and should be an entertaining one at that.

Winner: Villasenor

Jon Murphy vs. Brett Rogers

Murphy +190 at Bodoglife.com

Rogers -240 at Bodoglife.com

Murphy is a former college player at the University of Syracuse, but left school early and just looks like a guy that is pissed off. Murphy is pretty new to the MMA fighting with only 6 fights under his belt. Still learning he does bring in a winning record at 4-2, but will need a big time performance to take out Rogers. Rogers is a freestyle fighter that brings in a 7-0 MMA record. This is definitely going to be a big time heavyweight fight that is a great matchup for those fans who plan to tune into the fights this weekend.

Winner: Brett Rodgers

While we know many of you are big time UFC fans, this is a great chance to check out what the EliteXC has to offer. If anything the Kimbo Slice fight is worth waiting the whole night to see, as Slice is sure to beat the crap out of Thompson.
