San Diego Chargers at Miami Dolphins NFL Betting Odds
Written October 5, 2008 by Brad Marchetti

The San Diego Chargers vs Miami Dolphins game will feature to premier running backs backs from the AFC in Ronnie Brown and LaDainian Tomlinson. These two studs are likely to play major roles in who wins this game. Tomlinson is still not 100% but, even Tomlinson at 85% is a top-5 NFL back. The Chargers heart as a team has been called into question, with a disappointing 2-2 start. San Diego was expected to be Superbowl contenders while the Dolphins were expected to be bottom dwellers. The outcome of this game is obvious on paper but, on any given Sunday…. The NFL betting odds on the San Diego Chargers vs Miami Dolphins is San Diego -6.
Miami RB’s Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams will look to pound the ball on the ground early on a Chargers defense that has been labeled as “soft”. The Chargers will get back a key element to their defense this week when starting OLB Stephen Cooper returns from injury. Brown and Williams have been hit or miss this season. If the Miami running game can get going early it will set up the play action pass for Miami QB Chad Pennington. Chad is a master of the play-action and lately he has been ultra sharp. The Chargers defense is ranked 28th in the NFL and if they don’t bring their A-game they could get burned underneath by Chad Pennington. The NFL betting odds OVER\UNDER for San Diego Chargers vs Miami Dolphins game is 44.5 points.
The San Diego Chargers offense is starting to find a rhythm with QB Phillip Rivers and crew. The Chargers offense have been underachievers this season. WR Chris Chambers (4.40 40-speed, 40+ inch Vertical Leap) is a budding superstar having a career season. Chambers could do some serious damage in this game against a struggling Miami secondary. The Dolphins defense is playing well but, Miami is still suspect on D. Containing Chargers TE Antonio Gates and WR Vincent Jackson could prove to be too much for Miami. The Chargers top-notch running game provides San Diego QB Phillip Rivers (109.8) the balance that he needs to abuse defenses. The Chargers offense is averaging 34.5 points per game. San Diego has an explosive element to their offense at the skill positions. The Chargers will face an improving Miami defense that has show the ability to get after the passer. The one suspect part of the San Diego offense is their O-line and Miami will be aggressive in their play-calling.
The jury is still out on both of these teams. Miami is still a team that finished 1-15 last season. the Chargers are a team full of questions with coaching being a major concern. Can Miami continue their surge after an inspiring win over New England last week? Can San Diego put it all together and use their talent to dominate Miami on the road?
