Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens NFL Odds
Written December 20, 2009 by Black Widow
The Baltimore Ravens host the Chicago Bears today in what is a huge game in the AFC playoff race. Though Chicago is basically eliminated from the NFC playoffs, the Ravens have a chance to inch closer to earning a spot in the postseason in the AFC with a win. The Ravens are coming off a 48-3 win over the Lions, while the Bears are off a 21-14 loss to the Packers. NFL odds for this game have the Ravens as 11-point favorites with a Total Set of 38.5 points.
Ray Rice is coming off one of his best games as a pro, rushing for 166 yards on just 13 carries in last week’s 48-3 win over Detroit. Baltimore set team records with 5 rushing touchdowns and 548 yards of total offense last week. The Ravens’ schedule sets up nicely the last 3 weeks, with this game against the Bears followed by road meetings with the struggling Steelers and the Raiders. They cannot afford a letdown here Sunday.
The Bears couldn’t be in worse shape this season. Chicago is 5-8, and they have lost 5 of their last 6 games overall to play themselves out of the playoffs. Baltimore is 12-1 at home against NFC opponents since 2003, so Chicago has their work cut out for them. Jay Cutler has never faced the Ravens in his career, and he has the job of trying to resurrect a Bears’ offense that is scoring just 14.6 points/game in their last 6 games.
