Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cincinnati Bengals NFL Betting Odds & Spread

Bengals Chiefs Football

While a number of teams compete for the playoffs or at least have a shot at ruining another teams shot at making it, when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday, the only thing they will be playing for is pride. The Chiefs come in at 2-13 and have last place secured in the AFC West after there 31-38 loss at home to the Dolphins last week, while the Bengals look to finish the season on a 3 game winning streak after blanking the Brown 14-0 last week, it will only be win number 4 if they are successful. For those of you looking to do some NFL betting on the game this Sunday, the oddsmakers have the Bengals 3 point favorites at home over the Chiefs at Bookmaker.com.

The Chiefs continue to let game after game slip out of their grasp, as they jumped out to a 28-24 lead in the first half, but the offense fell apart in the 2nd half scoring just 3 points. Tyler Thigpen had his moments throwing for 320 yards and 2 scores, and also ran for 57 yards and another score, but had 3 interceptions and couldn’t make the plays when needed in the 4th quarter. On a good note the offense did get a great effort from running back Larry Johnson who ran it just 12 times for 108 yards, and you have to wonder why he didn’t get even more touches. The Chiefs have the talent to beat the Bengals this weekend, but its a matter of if this team can finish when it matters late.

The Chiefs defense gave up nearly 170 yards on the ground, as a number of the Dolphins backs had big runs in this one. Ted Ginn Jr. got it going early with a 31 yard run on the very first drive of the game, and Ricky WIlliams had the final big run with a 4 yard touchdown in the 3rd that tied it up at 31. The Bengals have started moving the football,a little better of late, but this the highest output all season is just 23 points. Look for the Chiefs to at least make this one respectable, as we see it going down to the wire. Bet Kansas City Chiefs +3 at Bookmaker.com.

The Bengals offense wasn’t the story of their win over Browns last week, as the defense stole the show, as the Bengals only offensive points came on a 20 yard pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Chris Henry. That was about as good as it got in the passing game, as Fitzpatrick threw it just 9 times for 55 yards, as it was all Cedric Benson in this one. Benson ran it 38 times for 171 yards, and it will be interesting to see how he bounces back this weekend against a Chiefs defense that has had its struggles stopping the run this season.

The Bengals defense not only shutout the Browns last week, but also scored more than their opponents, as Leon Hall took one of his 3 interceptions back 50 yards for a touchdown. The defense also got an interecption from linebacker Brandon Johnson, as they had complete control over the Browns last week. The Chiefs might only have 2 wins this season, but they can score, and we don’t see the Bengals pulling a shutout at all in this one. Bet Cincinnati Bengals -3 at Bookmaker.com.

Lowry’s Lean on the Game: Chiefs +3
We like the Chiefs and the points in this one, in fact we like the Chiefs to win the game outright. The Bengals can’t throw the football, and we don’t think Benson has another 40 carries in him this week. Look for the Chiefs to jump out early, blow the lead, but finish up with the win.

Predicted Score: Chiefs 28 Bengals 27
