Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat

For the third and final time this season LeBron James and the Miami Heat will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. The game will be played AmericanAirlines Arena, where the Heat beat the Cavaliers 101-95 on Dec. 15.
Not much could go worse for the Cavaliers right now. Cleveland lost 103-87 on Sunday to the Magic, their 20th straight loss and 30th in their last 31 games. Miami pulled off a 108-103 win at Oklahoma City on Sunday, and have won three of their last four after dropping four straight.
Taking a look at the NBA spreads for tonight’s game, oddsmakers have the Heat favored by 17.5 with the total set at 201.5.
As you might imagine there really isn’t a whole lot going right for the Cavaliers right now, and I wonder if this team even wants to take the energy and effort to try and make it a game tonight, cause if the Heat show up to play, they have no chance.
Rookie Manny Harris was moved into the starting lineup for Daniel Gibson on Sunday, and responded with a team-high 20 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists. The only problem is Harris was the only started to score in double figures, as just three Cavaliers reached that mark against the Magic. Cleveland likely needs their best shooting night of the season just to keep it close against Miami.
The Heat had the trio of James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in the starting lineup for the first time in nearly three weeks, and like earlier this season, the trio led Miami to a win. Wade scored a team-high 32 points, James added 23 points and 13 assists, while Bosh scored 20 points and grabbed seven boards. The trio combined for 75 points, and its going to be hard for anyone to stop these guys if they can stay healthy.
While Heat struggled to put away the Cavaliers in their earlier meeting in Miami, but I don’t think they are going to let Cleveland stick around in this one. Since the last meeting between these two teams, the Cavaliers have lost Anderson Varejao for the season, Mo Williams is out indefinitely, and Gibson is listed as doubtful.
Cleveland hasn’t even came close against teams with a winning record lately, and I will be surprised if they can keep it within 20 points tonight. I think you roll with the 17.5-points spread, and look for Miami to crush the Cavaliers much like they did in Cleveland earlier this season.
Got something to say?
