Week 13 College Football Odds
Written November 18, 2008 by Steve Janus
This week’s college football lines have been posted. Here is a quick run down of the best games going this Saturday:
The biggest game of the week in college football (and probably in all sports) has to be the Texas Tech Red Raiders at the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners are tough as nails at home, but Texas Tech as shown they have the ability to win the big game. The Sooners are favored by 7 points right now as they have been playing lights-out and, of course, have the homefield advantage.
Mississippi is currently just a 4 point underdog at LSU this week. This is probably because the Tigers have shown they are vulnerable at home. Another loss for them would be devastating to their bowl placement, however, so don’t expect LSU to roll over just yet.
Michigan against Ohio State used to be a game to look forward to in the college football season. Now, it’s a joke with the Buckeyes favored by 21 points at home.
Oregon State can still win the Pac-10 if they can manage to win their last two games of the season. They have two tough weeks ahead of them though, starting with this Saturday against Arizona, where the Beavers are 2.5 point underdogs.
To keep their hopes for a BCS Bowl alive, the Utah Utes will need to get past the BYU Cougars and their high-flying offense. Utah is currently favored by 6.5 points, and this game is an absolute must-win for the program.
Boise State is in a similar boat with Utah. They have a real chance to make a BCS Bowl game, but they must remain undefeated. This week they have a very tough road contest at Nevada, but Boise is still a 6.5 point favorite.
Penn State is a 17.5 point favorite at home against Michigan State. This is a dangerous spot for the Lions, who are trying for the 800th win in the program’s storied history.
Rutgers looks to stay on a roll this week against Army. It looks like the sportsbooks think the Scarlet Knights have a great shot at picking up the win, they are 17.5 point favorites this week.
North Carolina State used to own in-state rival North Carolina in football, but the Tar Heels have been rocking and rolling lately and are 11 point favorites at home against the Wolfpack.
At the beginning of the season, who would have thought Vanderbilt would be a 3 point favorite at home against Tennessee? As the season has fallen apart for the Vols, however, the line seems appropriate.
The week’s worst overall match up might be Washington against Washington State. Both teams have been just awful this year, but Washington gets the nod as 7.5 point favorites.
Notre Dame is a 20 point favorite over Syracuse this week. What exactly have the Irish done to be favored by 20 over anyone this year?
