Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals Football Odds & NFL Picks
Written October 11, 2008 by Brad Marchetti

The Dallas Cowboys are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 as they head to face a high-scoring Arizona Cardinals team on the road. The Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals game will be a pivotal one for an Arizona team growing more confident by the week. In a weak NFC West, the Cardinals seem to have it made in the shade. Dallas is going through another T.O turmoil point in the season, again. If Dallas takes the Cardinals lightly they could get the stars knocked off their helmets. The NFL betting odds for the Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals game is Dallas -5.
Arizona RB Edgerrin James is far past his prime. The lack of a running game from the 6′0″ 220 Lb. James (4.65 40-speed) or 6′0″ 226 rookie Tim Hightower leave QB Kurt Warner at risk against the pass-rush. Dallas OLB DeMarcus Ware (5.0 Sacks) is a terror that the Cardinals shaky O-line might be unable to contain. Warner (102.5 Passer Rating) has a menacing set of weapons at wideout, and the Cowboys coverage is mediocre (Allowing 88.7 Passer Rating). Warner could be without a primary weapon in WR Anquan Boldin (Head). Dallas will be without top coverman Terrance Newman however. Arizona’s 4th ranked offense could have a field day through the air if the Cowboys come out flat on defense. The Cowboys 20th ranked defense has been dominant (14 Sacks) or suspect (4.1 YPC allowed 4 rushing TD). When the Cardinals are in a groove, they can be as dominant as any offense in the NFL. At this point 5th round RB Tim Hightower (4.50 40-speed) could be a better option than a faded Edgerrin James. The key to Arizona pulling off the upset will be either Hightower or James running the football to take heat off Warner. Dallas defensive leader DeMarcus Ware is making his case for being the best defender in the NFL. The 6′4″ 260 Lb. Ware, is a natural and gifted pass-rusher that makes offenses change gameplans. The NFL betting odds OVERUNDER for the Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals game is at 50.5 points.
Tony Romo will air the ball out freely in this game with his trio of weapons in Terrell owens, Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton. Romo (100.5 Passer Rating) has the offense humming along despite a recent rash of fumbles. T.O seems to be having another one of his crises this week however, so his production in this game should be looked at. Owens is still a top-shelf player at age 35, but he has lost a half step this season. Another weapon for the Cowboys has emerged to pick up the half step in WR Miles Austin (6′3″ 215 Lb.). Arizona’s coverage is shoddy (103.9 Passer rating Allowed) and this week could be missing starting CB Roderick Hood (Groin). Dallas offensive coordinator has either Marion (The Barbarian) Barber or either Felix Jones (4.40 40-speed) at his disposal to attack the Cards big front seven with. The Cardinals have some monsters off the edge with Bert Berry (3.0 Sacks) and Travis LaBoy (4.0 sacks). Berry will most likely miss this game with a groin injury which should be worth a point on the spread. Arizona NT Gabe Watson is a force in the middle that allows the linebackers to flow to the ball. Arizona’s 18th ranked defense is led by heavy hitting safeties 6′3″ 230 Lb. Adrian Wilson and 6′0″ 210 Lb. Antrel Rolle (4.35 40-speed). If Roderick Hood is unable to play, rookie CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (4.35 40-Speed) will get the nod.
This Arizona team knows how to win at home and the Cowboys are at a strange crossroads in this game. T.O is having issues and Pacman almost got arrested. Get the idea? Both of these teams will throw haymakers in this one in an effort to win a shootout. The NFL betting odds MONEYLINE for the Dallas Cowboys vs Arizona Cardinals game is at Dallas -220.
