Dallas Cowboys Green Bay Packers Predictions
Written September 20, 2008 by Jason Lowry
Sunday Night Football has all the build up to be one of the best games of the weekend, as the high-powered offenses of the Green Bay Packers and the Dallas Cowboys lock up in what should have plenty of touchdowns to go around. Both teams come in at 2-0, and the Cowboys needed everything the had last week to win a shootout over the Eagles 41-37. The Packers score was a little misleading as they actually trailed 25-24 midway through the 4th quarter, but were able to add on 24 unanswered to take home the win 48-25. In what might be a surprise to some the odds makers have the Cowboys as 3 point favorites on the road over the Packers at JustBet.com

The Cowboys offense looked great last week besides a couple blunders by Tony Romo, as they racked up 380 total yards. Scoring came early and often including one of two strike to TO for 72 in the 1st quarter. Romo wound up throwing for 312 yards and 3 scores, and running back Marion Barber took over at the end pounding his way to a 4th quarter touchdown that put the Cowboys up for good. Jason Witten remained Romo’s go to target catching 7 balls for 110 yards. Also worth noting is rookie running back Felix Jones really had an impact on this game in the return aspect, including a 98 yard kickoff return for a touchdown at the end of the 1st quarter.
I don’t think many thought the two defense would struggle like they did, but I think you just have to give the credit to the offenses, as they just played at an elite level from start to finish. The defense managed just 1 turnover on a fumble, but they were simply unable to stop McNabb, Westbrook, and rookie receiver DeSean Jackson. This defense has to play better this weekend, and we think they will, they just have to much talent not to. Bet Cowboys -3 at JustBet.com.
The Packers continue to look really good under Aaron Rodgers who has this offense not missing a beat after the departure of Brett Favre. Rodgers tore up a terrible Lions defense throwing for 328 yards and 3 scores. The running game was led by Brandon Jackson who ran 7 times for 61 yards, and he might be asked to carry it even more this weekend, as Ryan Grant continues to nurse an injury. The duo of Greg Jennings and Donald Driver did their job last week, and Jennings was the star grabbing 6 balls for 167 yards, but Driver as the one who found the endzone. The Packers offense will have to have it clicking, as the Cowboys are going to put points on the board.
The Packers defense could really give the Cowboys receivers some fits this weekend, as they still have to of the best corners in the game in Charles Woodson and Al Harris. Woodson and Nick Collins were the stars last week, as they both intercepted a pass for a touchdown. The defense will have its hands full though, as the Cowboys have talent all over the offensive side of the ball. Bet Packers +3 at JustBet.com.
