As the Dodgers continue to take care of business, the Diamondbacks’ post-season hopes are just about done, so look for them to play like that tonight. Wainwright has been lights out since coming of the DL. Since bouncing back from injury, Wainwright has not lost a game as he is 4-0 in six starts for the Cardinals. He faces an Arizona lineup that has been known to struggle against upper-tier pitches, so look for that trend to continue. In his 3 previous starts against the Diamondbacks, Wainwright is 2-1 with a solid ERA of 2.45. In his last start against Arizona on September 2, he allowed only 1 run in 5 1/3 innings of work. Look for much of the same from Adam Wainwright tonight.

Look for the Cardinal offense to take full advantage of an inexperienced starter in Max Scherzer. Scherzer has not won a game on the year, and it won’t get easier for him tonight as he faces a solid Cardinal offense. With addition to Albert Pujols and Troy Glaus, look for Ryan Ludwick and newly added Felipe Lopez to stay hot for the Cardinals. Ludwick has a nice 7 game hitting streak going.
