Miami Dolphins New England Patriots Line
Written September 20, 2008 by Jason Lowry
This Sunday the New England Patriots look to keep that regular season winning streak rolling, as they invite the Miami Dolphins to town. While the Patriots went to 2-0 after a hard fought win over their rival Jets, the Dolphins continued to struggle to win football games, as they got spanked by the Arizona Cardinals 31-10. Even without Brady under center this Patriots team is still one of the best teams in the AFC, and thats likely why the odds makers see this one ending badly for the Dolphins as they are 12 point underdogs against the Patriots at JustBet.com.

The Dolphins offense really struggled to get much going last week, as they only found the endzone, after the game was over and they were down 31-3 with less than 5 mins to go. Newly acquired Chad Pennington didn’t have the best of days, and the team gave rookie Chad Henne a look, as he threw for 67 yards on 7/12 throwing. Neither Ricky Williams or Ronnie Brown was able to do much of anything against the Cardinals, as each got 11 carries, and Williams had just 3 more yards at 28. If the ofense is unable to get the ground game going, its going to be anther long season for Dolphin fans.
The Dolphins defense simply had no answer for Kurt Warner and his air attack to Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald. Warner threw for 361 yards on the day and 3 scores, with all of them going to Boldin, but Fitzgerald led the way with 153 yards. The Dolphins defense didn’t really do much of anything right in this one, and if they let Cassel hook up with Moss and Welker the same way it could be over by the first quarter. Now it might be a little bit of a stretch to think that Cassel is going to come in and air it up for 300 yards and a bunch of scores, after just throwing for 165 yards and no scores. But with Moss and Welker lining up on the outside, he has the targets to do just that. Moss had a quite day against the Jets catching just 2 balls for 22 yards. The running game got a nice lift from LaMont Jordan who ran 11 times for 62 yards. It also is worth noting that Kevin Faulk is back in action, and had a great first game racking up nearly 70 yards on the ground and through the air. The offense should be able to open it up more this week, and we are expecting a big day out of Moss.
The Patriots defense looked solid again last week really keeping Brett Favre under check, as Favre was able to throw for just 181 yards, and they forced him into tossing an interception. The run defense was solid giving up just 104 yards, and they will get tested again this weekend, as the Dolphins will try and establish the run early. While the vet Rodney Harrison led the way with 8 tackles, rookie Jerod Mayo continues to look good as he recorded 7 solo tackles last week against the Jets. Bet Patriots -12 at JustBet.com.
Predicted Score: Dolphins 12, Patriots 24
