Drinking While Gambling
Written February 18, 2008 by Jack Jones
If you are drinking while gambling then you might be making some bad decisions that you wouldn’t make sober. Casinos call the free booze they give to patrons chip removers for a reason, so take their offerings in moderation. The casinos give out there comp drinks in order to speed up the process of you dumping your chips to them. If you are there gambling with your friends and have a high testosterone level because you are trying to act macho and impress everyone, all the while boozing away then you can expect to probably make a few more bad decisions than you normally would have. Your brain power becomes distorted, which means that at the blackjack table you won’t be able to count cards at all, and you might even be forgetting the basic strategy even if you were able to do so. Casinos thrive on people who are drinking while gambling. This is one of the reasons that the free drinks are as stiff as they are. The more intoxicated you get, the worse your decision making process becomes. Unless you plan on sitting their playing a mind-numbing session of slots, we would stay away from the booze. If you plan on bellying-up to the craps table, then the excitement and machoism could force you to play some high risk bets in order to impress everyone around. We do not suggest falling into this trap.
