Eagles Giants Line

The New York Giants will look to keep hold of their NFC East lead with another win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The Giants outscored the Eagles 15-0 in the fourth quarter to win 29-16 at Philadelphia back in week 3. That was just the beginning of the struggles the Eagles would encounter this season, as they are just 3-6 after falling 17-21 at home to Arizona last week. The Giants sit on top the division with a 6-3 record, but are coming off a 20-27 loss at San Francisco last week. Philadelphia has won four straight at New York, including last year’s improbably 21-point fourth quarter comeback.

Taking a look at the week 11 NFL lines, oddsmakers currently have the Giants favored by 4.5-points over the Eagles with the total set at 46.5 points.

Philadelphia Eagles:

Not only did the Eagles lose at home to the Cardinal of all teams last week, but they also lost Michael Vick for this week’s game. Vick suffered two broken ribs early in the first quarter, and the Eagles offense struggled to get on track. While this team has been a huge disappointment, their previous five losses had come against the likes of Atlanta, New York (Giants), San Francisco, Buffalo, and Chicago.

Not only were the Eagles playing with an injured Vick, but they didn’t have star wide out DeSean Jackson, who was deactivated after missing a meeting. Vick finished the game just 16 of 34 for 128 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, but was able to rush for 79 yards on eight attempts. Vince Young is expected to get his first start of the season in place of Vick, and it’s hard telling how this offense will respond.

The one player that has delivered consistently for the Eagles is running back LeSean McCoy, who carried 14 times for 81 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Arizona. McCoy has scored at least one touchdown in nine straight games, and figures to get an even bigger workload this week. In the first meeting against the Giants, McCoy rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown on 24 attempts.

New York Giants:

While the Eagles haven’t panned out to be the team everyone expected, you can expect the Giants to come in extremely focused to get a win this Sunday, especially with how things have gone at home in years past against Philadelphia. The Giants haven’t lost back-t0-back games all season. In fact, they have responded with three-game winning steaks the last two times they failed to come away with a victory.

Eli Manning and the Giants offense struggled to get much of anything going against the 49ers last week, but were within striking distance late to tie up the game and send it to overtime. Manning finished 26 of 40 for 311 yards and two touchdowns, but also had two costly interceptions.

New York was once again without starting running back Ahmad Bradshaw, who has missed the past two games with a foot injury. The Giants rushing attack managed just 93 yards on 29 attempts against the 49ers powerful run defense. It doesn’t look like Bradshaw will be able to return to action this week, who had 139 total yards and a touchdown against the Eagles earlier this season.  Philadelphia held New York to just 102 rushing yards back in week 3, but are allowing 120 yards per game on the season.

Betting Trends:

Philadelphia is 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0.

New York is 1-11 ATS in their last 12 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
