Easy Way to Fill Out NCAA Tournament Bracket
Written March 18, 2009 by Jack Jones
There are a few easy ways to fill out your NCAA tournament brackets in 2009. The first is to check out the expert bracket picks we have here at our site with opinions from some of our top handicappers. This works out great if you have a rather large pool and are looking to take some chances.
If you are in a small pool and don’t want to gamble, just fill in the favorites. They are the higher seeds for a reason, and despite all the hype when a team actually does make a run as a low seed, that just doesn’t happen all that often. Seven seeds beat 10 seeds over 65% of the time, same with fives over 12s. It’s just when those 12s win everyone talks about it. Eleven seeds are not very likely to beat six seeds either, as it happens only around 31% of the time. If you are playing the math on the team most likely to win each individual game, go with the higher seed, except there is a slight edge in taking nines over eights.
You could also use this excel spreadsheet I found at IntelliBracket. This uses an algorithm based on historical date, seeding, and a few stats to spit out a complete NCAA bracket for you. If you don’t have much knowledge of college basketball or you just want a quick and easy way to fill out your winners then give it a try. You can also play with the bracket upset value to change up just how many upsets you think we will see in the tournament, and it recomputes your bracket accordingly.
If you plan on betting on the NCAA basketball games then your easy way to win is by signing up for the college basketball picks offered by our handicappers. They will be burning the midnight oil all week to make sure that they find the weakest NCAA basketball spreads that you can beat.

Got something to say?

I found that intellibracket.com website to be pretty helpful. It also helped me to go 16-0 in my bracket on day 1. I’m sure that will change, but it’s a pretty good start, and definitely better than I could do on my own!
