Super Bowl Betting: Larry Fitzgerald Props
Written January 29, 2009 by Jason Lowry

What a postseason it has been for Larry Fitzgerald and the Arizona Cardinals, as few thought this team had a chance of making the playoffs. It really should come as no surprise that Fitzgerald has given opposing defenses a ton of problems this postseason, as he led the NFC in receiving yards with 1,431 and tied with Calvin Johnson for the NFL lead with 12 receiving touchdowns. In 3 playoff games Fitzgerald has already set the NFL playoff record for receiving yards in one postseason with 419 yards, and is tops in the playoffs with 5 touchdowns, including his 3 touchdown performance against the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game. With his recent performance in the playoffs there are many considering him the best receiver in the game, as he just catches everything, and if a jump ball he is going to be the one to come down for it. For those of you looking to do a little NFL Betting on the Super Bowl this weekend, here is a look at the prop bets for Larry Fitzgerald at Sportsbook.com.
Total Receiving Yards: Over 95.5 (-115) Under 95.5 (-115)
We expect the Steelers to put a ton of focus on this guy, and they have one of the best safeties in Troy Polamalu likely keeping a very close eye on him, but with Boldin out with an injury for pretty much the entire postseason, Fitzgerald has still went over a 100 yards receiving in each game, and either win or lose this guy is going to make some plays in the Super Bowl. We are going over 95.5 easy.
Longest Reception: Over 35.5 (-105) Under 35.5 (-125)
Fitzgerald is not only great at going up and getting the football, but he knows how get that extra yardage after the catch, and with as well as Warner is throwing the football, we like Fitzgerald to come up with at least one big catch in this one, plus he has caught a pass for over 40 yards in his last 5 games going back to the regular season.
Total Receptions: Over 6.5 (-120) Under 6.5 (Even)
This is a little more tricky, as we think Fitzgerald is going to make more big plays than he is going to catch 10 balls in this one. With Boldin coming back healthy, we are think Fitzgerald gets 6 catches and falls just short of the 7 needed to win here.
Will He Score a Touchdown: Yes (-125) No (-105)
This is about as simple as it gets if you are going to put money on a prop bet this weekend. There isn’t a better player on the field at making the catch in tight situations and the Cardinals really try and get him the ball when they are in the red zone. We think Fitzgerald scores at some point in this one.
Will He Score a TD in the 1st Half: Yes (+160) No (-200)
This is pretty much a toss up, as you just never know when a player is going to get the opportunity to make a big play, especially in the red zone. Like we already said we think Fitzgerald scores in this one, and based off that we like the odds of him scoring in the first half so we will say yes.
Will He Score 2 or more TDs: Yes(+270) No (-350)
As good as this guy is, and even though he scored 3 in the NFC Championship, we think that Boldin is really going to get more focus in this one, and we think Fitzgerald ends up with just 1 score in the Super Bowl.
Total Receiving Yards on First Reception: Over 12.5 (-115) Under 12.5 (-115)
This is another tricky one to call, as you could pretty much flip a coin and come up with the right answer. We are going to say over on this one, as Fitzgerald is averaging over 18 yards a catch this postseason.
