Philadelphia vs. Colorado
The Phillies definitely want revenge for the sweep the Rockies gave them in 2007. That year, the Phillies barely got in the playoffs, as did the Rockies. This year, it was a little easier for them both, but for the most part, the Phillies have been much more impressive this season. I like them to enact their revenge successfully with the superior front end pitching. Philadelphia beats Colorado 3-1.
St. Louis vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The Cardinals may be the best team in baseball right now. Their front-end pitching is unbelievable, and the addition of Matt Holiday has been the best trade of the season. The Dodgers basically slid into the playoffs, and haven’t looked good since June. There’s no way the Cardinals lose this one. St. Louis beats LA, 3-0.
Boston vs. Los Angeles Angels
The Angels have had trouble with the Red Sox over the years, but this year might be different. The Red Sox aren’t nearly as good on defense as they have been in years past, and that is going to hurt them against a manufacturing team like the Angels. Personally, I really want to see Red Sox vs. Yankees, but something tells me that the Angels will spoil the party with their baserunning and timely hitting. I like the Angels in this one. LA beats Boston 3-2.
New York vs. Minnesota
If the Twins win tonight’s game, you can throw this prediction out the window. However, that is probably an unlikely scenario, as the Yankees have beaten the Twins in all of their 7 games this season. So while I would like to say that the underdog has a chance in this one, I just don’t see it.
