Alabama starting defensive end Brandon Diedrich was shot in the arm last night. The injury isnt serious and he's already been released from the hospital , but it is doubtful that he will play on saturday.

The Tide is also awaiting word from the ncaa on the eligibilty of julio jones(wr) and mark ingram (rb) , the word on the street is that if the ncaa doesnt respond by friday they would likely NOT play.

For anyone wanting to back Va Tech , you may want to get it in now while it's still 6-7 , b/c if jones and ingram dont play the line will likely drop. ... i'm not suggesting that anyone back tech , just saying that if you are go ahead and get the points before it drops.

Julio Jones and Mark Ingram have been cleared to play Saturday.

The NCAA has ruled that the gifts they received were impermissible but they only have to pay restitution and there will be nother other sanctions.
