    Default Wednesday CBB

Here are the two free picks for today:

Florida State -2.5 over Miami at BetUS

I’ll take the Seminoles tonight who are 10-3 at home against a Hurricanes squad that has gone just 3-4 in true road games. Florida State had won three in a row before a tough loss to last weekend, but at 6-4 have a better ACC record than the 4-7 Hurricanes. I know the Canes played both Duke and North Carolina tough in their previous two games, but there is no denying this team is in a skid having lost five of their last six. I like home teams that play great defense and with the Seminoles giving up just 63.7 points per game on 38% shooting, they fit into this category tonight. This should be a great game, but I’ll take the Seminoles in a close one.

Oklahoma State -1 over Texas Tech at Bookmaker

This game is a little scary tonight as the Red Raiders might be just 2-8 in Big 12 play, but they are 11-3 on their home floor while Oky State is just 2-5 on the road. However, Tech has lost six of their last seven games and were demoralized by Oklahoma on Saturday. The Cowboys have a load of talent with four guys averaging over 14 points per game, a big reason why they are scoring 83 per contest. Texas Tech can score too, but their defense isn’t quite as good, allowing 78.6 points per game this year. To me, Oklahoma State has more talent than the Red Raider do, and with the Red Raiders struggling, the Cowboys are worth a play tonight.

CBB Free Pick Record is now: 38-24

I don't really have any leans to post here today, but if people create a thread with their picks in it I'll make sure I stop by and give some thoughts on the games.

The premium picks are on Butler/Wisc-Milwaukee and Houston/Marshall, both 15*.

First, Thanks for the wins last night. You were definately right about Purdue. I wish I would have taken them. I really like the Oklahaoma State pick I think Texas Tech is just awful and OSU should be able to handle them. The other pick I think Ill stay away from. I was one of the doubters who thought Miami couldnt stay with North Carolina and again I was wrong. I am not saying Florida state shouldnt win but Miami is a team that sneaks up and bites ya. If you sayFlorida State should win I believe you and If i had to make a play I would on them but just in case Im gonna pass.

I don't like the Oklahoma St pick at all. The Red Raiders are just flat out tough to beat at home, winning 80 of their last 96 SU in Lubbock, plus Oklahoma St. is 8-24-1 ATS in their last 33 road games, and 2-7-1 ATS on the road this year. Oklahoma St only won by 1 on 02/04/09 when these teams played in Stillwater. Texas Tech lead that whole game and shouldn't have lost. I think they will get revenge tonight at home. With all of that history and Texas Tech playing at home in a conference game with a small line....I think I'm taking the Red Raiders tonight for a small one.

Sorry Jack - don't want to disagree with you, but that's what this forum is all about right?

FSU is probably solid as a free pick. Playing at home against in-state rival Miami. They should be able to pick up this hard fought win.

You are damn right that's what the forum is about! I'm trying to make sure you guys come in here, pick apart my games, pick apart each others, and grind out games that you feel have a great shot at winning. That way we all benefit instead of just blindly following someone.

If anybody comes in on a high horse thinking they can't lose and their word is gold, they are due for a nice portion of humble pie!

I was leaning towards Miami myself against North Carolina and I think they've been undervalued all year long, so when I go against them I feel like it's a solid play.

Nice writeup on Texas Tech too. The Cowboys aren't very reliable as a team to show up every night, but this Red Raiders team has been horrible in my opinion. Again though, if I felt stronger about it then I'd be playing it as a premium and not a freebie.

Good work on the free picks. I took FSU -3, but was wary of Oklahoma State. I am grinding my gears right now.

Butler just couldn't seem to recover from that loss at home, and I assume your Marshall pick was Houston -5 (since you said it disagreed with my system?) Rough man. How often do your free picks do better than premium? Haha. Let's get that shit done tomorrow.

Wow, Butler shot 41.2%, but only 18.8% from 3-point land (3/16), while Milwaukee shot 34.5%, but 30.4% for 3 (7/23). All the other stats seem pretty even, except for the 11 offensive boards for Milwaukee as compared to 4 for Butler. Guess they were outmatched (didn't get to watch the game).

Looking like the two freebies will be winners tonight, but took a big kick in the pants with Butler and Houston tonight. Time to hit it hard tomorrow and try to find us some winners boys!

Uh oh, I think we spoke too soon for this Oklahoma State win. Tech down 6 with 4 to go.
