I don't know what Mangini is pulling, whether it's to keep Quinn motivated or what.

I heard rumors about the Lions trying to trade their No. 1 pick for Cutler. I feel like it would be a great move for them if they could pull it off, but no way the Broncos are going to want to enter the season without a solid option under center.

Weirdest rumor I've read is that Mangini gave Favre an open invitation to camp. WTF? I thought they didn't get along....

Favre in a Browns uniform would make my day.

So Jack was right with the Bears. I wonder how Orton is going to do with the Broncos hahaha.

Well, there you go...Cutler to the Bears.

Where do you put the Bears' Super Bowl odds now? The book I use has them at +2500 in futures but I feel like that might not be up to date yet.

Somewhere between slim and none...and slim's outta town!

The Bears suck, I'm afraid. Cutler sucks too and the combination suckety-sucks. They've got precious little chance of making the playoffs so the Superbowl is a distant dream.

For what it's worth, the teams I like to do better than the market suggests are Dallas, Houston and San Francisco, whereas the teams I like to do worse than the market reckons are Miami, Tennessee and Baltimore. If you take reasonable over/under win propositions on those teams I guarantee you don't do worse than 3-3 come the end of the season.

Adrian, I knew there was a reason I liked you.

I dunno...I don't think Cutler sucks at all. Actually, I think he's the best QB the Bears have had in several decades. Who has been better? Even Jim McMahon was only effective for a couple of seasons. Cutler has all the tools to be elite -- he just has to check his ego at the door.

The trouble with a Denver quarterback of course is that he constantly has to adjust his game to allow for the altitude changing every week.

This may mean that Cutler is potentially a bit better than the weak away performances he seems to me to have made suggest, as he will have a greater opportunity for consistency throughout the season.

Don't bet on it though...I still think he sucks

Interesting argument...I never really thought about how the air factored in for the Broncos -- obviously it's a factor with Coors Field but I never really applied the logic to football (other than the breathing factor).

It's just like golf at altitude, I imagine - if you don't allow a little less club for any given distance than you do at ground level then you are going to overshoot a lot of greens because of the decreased air resistance. Basically this means constant adjustment if you are switching - it's bound to make things more difficult.
