Default Sage's Week 7 NFL Picks (4-1 Last Week!)

I went 4-1 last week cashing in Cleveland +8, Tampa Bay -2, Jacksonville +3, and Atlanta +3. Here are my Week 7 NFL Picks. LOAD UP!

    1.) San Diego Chargers PK

    - The Chargers 3-3 record could easily be 5-1, while Buffalo's 4-1 mark could easily be 1-4. The odds makers are way off the mark here, buying in to Buffalo this season. The Bills will get exposed Sunday by a much more complete Chargers' squad. QB Trent Edwards is not fully recovered from his concussion. If the Chargers were laying 7 points, I'd still probably take it. San Diego wins in a blowout.

    2.) Miami Dolphins -3

    - I liked the Dolpins way before Ravens' head coach John Harbaugh ran his mouth. Harbaugh made a big mistake heading into this game, calling out Miami's players in saying that former head coach Cam Cameron did a great job for the Dolphins with the players he had to work with last season. Cameron is now the Ravens' offensive coordinator, and Joey Porter and company will make this Baltimore offense look like a high school team Sunday. It won't be tough considering the Ravens could only manage 3 points against a Colts' defense that was without Bob Sanders last week. Miami coming off a last-second loss to Houston will be charged up when they return home Sunday. This may be the most underrated team in the league. Dolphins win big.

    3.) Cleveland Browns +7

    - Washington is a streaky team, and so are the Cleveland Browns. Washington went on a 3-game winning streak in the preseason before losing their final 2 preseason games in blowout fashion. They went on to look terrible against the New York Giants in Week 1 to cap off a 3-game skid. Then Washington got their act together, winning four straight including victories over the Cowboys and Eagles. But a loss to St. Louis last week is only the start of another skid for the Redskins. Cleveland lost 3 in a row to start the season, but back-to-back wins over the Bengals and Giants have Cleveland overflowing in confidence once again. The Browns keep it rolling this week. Derek Anderson put together his first 300-yard performance of the season last week, and he and Braylon Edwards are finally starting to mesh. They'll hook up for 2 scores in this one and easily cover a touchdown, perhaps winning outright.

    4.) New York Jets -3

    - The Oakland Raiders are in shambles right now. They had 2 weeks to get ready for New Orleans under new head coach Tom Cable, and we all saw how well that worked out. The Saints blew Oakland out of the building 34-3. The New York Jets are putting up nearly 30 points/game in their last 3 games under Brett Favre. Oakland cannot compete with the high-powered offenses in this league. If they face a team with a more run-first style of offense, such as the Bills and the Chiefs, then they show value. But against the re-energized Jets with the emergence of a solid passing game, the Raiders don't stand a chance. New York rolls by at least 10 points against an Oakland team still trying to find their identity.

    5.) Chicago Bears -3

    - Although both the Vikings and Bears are 3-3 on the season, there is a big difference between these teams. That difference will show Sunday when Chicago puts it on Minnesota from start to finish. When you look at common opponents, you can see that Chicago is the better team by far. Chicago beat Detroit 35-7 on the road, while Minnesota had to kick a last-second field goal to beat the Lions 12-10 AT HOME last week. Minnesota lost to the Colts AT HOME, while Chicago went into Indianapolis and came out with the victory earlier this season. Both teams run the ball very well, but this game will be won by Chicago's ability to move the ball through the air. Kyle Orton is playing outstanding football. The Bears will be able to stack 8 and 9 in the box to stop Adrian Peterson, forcing Gus Ferotte to try and beat them. Ferotte cannot beat any team in this league on his own, especially not the Bears on the road Sunday. Double-digit win by Chicago is inevitable.
