    Jack Jones/Trev Rogers Challenge

Rules and information can be found here: Sports Handicapping Contest | March Madness Contest

Here is the first play from myself:

    Boston -8.5

The Pistons earned their first win in three weeks on Friday when they won down in Orlando, but piling on a second win in Boston today is a little bit too much to ask of these guys. Once again this team will be without Allen Iverson and I don't think they are a better team without him, despite what some pundits might say after Friday's win. The Celtics will be without Kevin Garnett, but added a little backcourt depth with Stephon Marbury, who played 12 minutes and scored 8 minutes Friday night. The Celtics are 25-4 at home this year winning by an average of 12 ppg, while the Pistons are a mediocre 14-14 on the road, including 1-4 in their last five games. This line is showing value because these aren't the same old Pistons. Also, play on home favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points after 3 or more consecutive unders, very good team, outscoring their opponents by 6+ points/game. 37-16 (70%) over the last 5 seasons.

    0-0

Lets get this going Jack....I need $5k to support your wife and my kids.

    Syracuse -8.5

Trev Rogers recommends Syracuse -8.5 points over Cincinnati Sunday as part of his "2 BIG EAST BLOWOUTS" for the price of 1! We have to go against Cincy who is coming off a big emotional win against their ex-coach Bob Huggins. Add in the fact that Syracuse has "Revenge" on their side due their loss to Cincy last season. The points are high here for a reason....take the 'Cuse -8.5!

Revenge for Syracuse: CINCINNATI is 2-0 against the spread versus SYRACUSE over the last 3 seasons

Betting Trend in our favor: As a road underdog of 6.5 to 9 points Cincy is 1-5 ATS since 1997

    Contest Record: 0-0

We both put up $5,000 for the contest, and giving him a one day lead should only help bloat big head of his.

20* CBB No Brainer on the Citadel -6

I'll lay the points tonight as the Citadel has gone 14-5 in Southern Conference action in comparison to 5-14 for their opponent Georgia Southern. The Bulldogs are coming off a tough loss to Wofford, but this team had rattled off 11 straight victories prior to the setback and should want to end their season on a positive note here Monday so they can lock up a first round bye in the conference tournament. The Eagles on the other hand have lost 10 of their last 11 games and are coming off a 44 point loss to Davidson on Saturday. The Citadel has too much on the line for a letdown tonight, so I expect them to go all out in this game and win by double digits.

    0-1

Texas vs. Baylor Monday Night "Vegas Line" Massacre!

Trev Rogers recommends Baylor +8 points Monday night over Texas! We find 17-11 Baylor in a "Triple ATS Revenge" situation tonight against Texas. Obviously Texas is coming off the loss to OSU and has Kansas up next on the schedule....can you say "look ahead" game?

Baylor is looking like an NIT team as of now, but if they take out Texas and Nebraska, they could grab some eyeballs as they head into the BIG 12 tourney. I understand that Baylor has been a huge disappointment this season, but the calendar switching to March can do funny things to a team. This line is sitting on 8 with continued Texas money coming in. I see Baylor pulling the upset and igniting a possible spark in a Bears team that has been very average this season.

    1-0

Back to reality with me winning easily last night and Trev going down in flames. Now I don't have to feel like I want his play to crash and burn every day. If we both go 30-1 then we can keep the contest going and make you guys a shit load of money in the mean time

    Illinois Chicago -2.5

Illinois-Chicago was better than their 7-11 conference record indicated and this team comes in as the 7th seed having won four straight games. Youngstown State might get the home court advantage and the sixth seed, but they have lost three of four, including two in a row. The Flames have gone 18-4 against the Penguins all-time, but lost both of the matchups this year. I see Illinois-Chicago getting their revenge tonight.

Trev Rogers recommends Clemson -14.5 points Tuesday night over Virginia as his ACC "BLOWOUT" selection!

Tonight's game marks senior night for Clemson, and the team is 68-29 all-time on the night of the seniors' final home game. The Tigers have lost their last two outings, including a 73-66 road decision to Florida State on Saturday, and the thought here is that the team will feed off the emotion of the home crowd this evening and halt the slide with an easy win.

Virginia is perfect remedy to Clemson's recent cold streak.

    Take Clemson -14.5!

Nice job slopping a win up there on Clemson yesterday, thought I had you after that shitty first half they played!

    BYU -8

Don't be fooled by Wyoming's four straight wins as they have come on the road against terrible squads like Air Force and Colorado State or at home against teams with similar talent levels. I think BYU wins this game in a rout, kind of like they did back at the end of January when they whooped the Cowboys by 24 points. The Cougars are now one game behind Utah in the conference standings after they gave the Utes a 13 point beat down last time out. They went on the road and beat a talented San Diego State by 10 the game before that as well. BYU has too much talent and is motivated in their quest for a Mountain West crown. The three pronged attack of Jimmer Fredette (16.1 ppg), Lee Cummard (16.8 ppg), and Jonathan Tavernari (16.4 ppg) will be too much for Wyoming to contain.

A win is a win "Jackie" ....Clemson =

Trev Rogers recommends Florida (PK) over Mississippi State Wednesday night as his "SEC Road Warrior" Must Win Selection!

The Florida Gators have fallen behind in the race for the SEC East Division title, and they absolutely must beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs tonight to have any chance to remain in contention this coming weekend. Florida has suffered back-to-back losses to LSU and Tennessee, and the 79-75 setback to the Vols on Sunday really hurt the cause. Afterall, the Gators now trail South Carolina and Tennessee by a game in the division. Florida is 21-8 overall, including 8-6 in league play, and it is widely speculated that a strong finish to this regular season may be needed to secure an NCAA Tournament bid.

The line has moved at many books to FLA -1 which does follow the money movement that we are seeing for this game. Add in the fact that my favorite betting angle of "Revenge" is also present since MSU defeated FLA last season 68-59. Take FLORIDA at any line you can get tonight!

    Idaho -4

Both of these teams are playing well right now, but I'll lay the points with the home team. Idaho has won four out of five to reach 5th place in the WAC and they'll be out for revenge tonight against a La Tech team that won by 11 over the Vandals earlier in the year. Mac Hopson has been ridiculous for this team, scoring 16.6 ppg and dishing out 163 assists to only 86 turnovers. Plus he has hit 48% of his 3-point attempts, grabbed five boards a game and leads the team with 50 steals. I know, the Bulldogs have dominated Idaho, going 6-1 in 7 meetings between the two, but this line is set too low. I just can't see a team that is 5-10 on the road heading into Moscow and picking up the win tonight. Hopson carries his team to a blowout victory tonight.

    Record: 3-1

    St. Joe's +7 vs. Temple

There is no doubt that this is a down year for the St. Joe's program. The last time the Hawks were on the floor the team snapped a five-game losing skid with a 73-62 victory over St. Bonaventure on Sunday. The win pushed Saint Joseph's league mark to 8-6 on the year, placing the team in a tie with Duquesne and Saint Louis.

Temple currently sits in fourth place in the A-10, one game ahead of St. Joe. Temple comes into this matchup on a down note, having lost two straight contests, including a 70-65 setback to Dayton this past weekend.

Earlier this season the Owls got the better of Saint Joseph's, winning by a thrilling, 61-59 margin. It was the third straight win for Temple over St. Joe.

Growing up in Philadelphia, everyone knows that "BIG 5" games are always good battles. I just can not ignore what I feel is a very generous 7 points being given to St. Joseph's tonight. Phil Martelli understands better than anyone how another loss to Temple could effect recruiting for his program in the city.

St. Joe's gets the cover tonight and the outright win over Temple!
