Free NFL Picks: Week 15
Written December 16, 2009 by Anthony Moretti
The Arizona Cardinals lost on Monday Night Football, which opens up the door for the San Francisco 49ers to sneak through it in the NFC West, but the better likelihood is that a matchup with the Detroit Lions is all it will take for the Cardinals to seal the West. The latest NFL point spreads show the Cardinals as 11 point favorites.
The Cardinals still need just one win to clinch the NFC West and they head out on the road to Arizona this week as an 11-point favorite. The Cardinals had a tough time with the 49ers defense this week and were extremely sloppy, turning the ball over six times. But this week, the Cardinals face one of the worst defenses in the NFL and they should have no issues shredding the Lions.
The Cardinals are on a short week and are playing back-to-back road games, but considering how poorly the Lions have played in recent weeks, this should be an absolute walk in the part for Arizona.
The Lions are beaten up on both defense and offense and they don’t have the weapons to get involved in a shootout.
Recommended Play: Cardinals -11
The Oakland Raiders had an impressive win two weeks ago over the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, but that’s a distant memory nowadays. Sunday the Raiders are 14 point underdogs to the Denver Broncos.
The Raiders came back home and lost to the Washington Redskins, but the loss proved to be a bit bigger than just losing the game.
The Raiders also ended up losing starting quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, who was playing very well for the team. Gradkowski was the reigning AFC Player of the Week before suffering a leg injury, which will likely keep him out the rest of the season.
JaMarcus Russell stepped in at quarterback for the Raiders and he immediately brought the offense back down to their pathetic ways. He finished with a quarterback rating of 47.4 threw an interception, fumbled and was sacked six times. And this was in less than a half of football.
This week, the Raiders take their circus on the road to Denver where the Broncos love to beat up on them. The Broncos are the best team in the league but they are more than capable of taking advantage of a mistake-prone Raiders squad.
Recommended Play: Broncos -14
