2010-11 Results:
Overall: 17-14 (Home 9-6 Road 7-5 Neutral 1-3 Postseason 0-1)
Atlantic 10: 10-6
Conference Tournament: Lost in the first round to Saint Joseph’s.
Postseason: None
George Washington finished strong winning five of their six regular season games but instead of making a deep run in the conference tournament the Colonials got upset in the first-round by a Saint Joseph’s team that almost failed to qualify for the field. So despite a 10-6 record in conference play coach Karl Hobbs was fired and replaced by Mike Lonergan. George Washington averaged 64.9 points a game which ranked eleventh in the conference and allowed opponents to score 65.3 points per game which ranked fifth in the Atlantic 10.
Tony Taylor led the team last season scoring with 15 points per game and will be surrounded by five other players that started at least 13 games last year. The only negative with that is that Taylor is the only returning player who scored in double figures last year.

Key Losses
The Colonials will only be without starting center Joseph Katuka who averaged 8.1 points a game and 5 rebounds last season. He will likely be replaced in the lineup by David Pellom though his size will be missed due to the fact that the Colonials only have one eligible player over 6-foot-8 this year.

2011-12 Preview
George Washington is improving after winning ten games in the Atlantic 10 last year. With the return of Lasan Kromah who was injured last year they should improve. He was named to the pre-season A-10 third-team after averaging 11.8 points per game as a freshman. Overall George Washington will return four of five starters and should challenge Temple and Xavier for the conference championship.
Backcourt
Pre-season all conference point guard Taylor will lead the Colonials. Last season the 6-1 senior proved that he is capable of being the go to guy in the clutch. He will be flanked in the backcourt by Lasan Kromah who was out last year with an injury after a promising freshman year in 2009-2010.
Brian Bynes looks to provide help off the bench after starting sixteen games last year and averaging 6.1 points per game and 1.5 assists.
Frontcourt
In the front court David Pellom will replace starting center Joseph Katuka. Pellom returns after having averaged a team high 5.2 boards per game as a part time starter. Jabari Edwards is excellent on the boards and is a superb defender and will provide depth off the bench.
Nemanja Mikic and Dwayne Smith will start at forward. Mikic started every game last year and played well. He shot 43.6% from outside and is an excellent perimeter player. Smith will likely be the fifth starter after averaging 9.3 points per game and 5.1 rebounds. He is a physical player and an excellent rebounder. Aaron Ware will serve as his backup and will once again add depth for the Colonials. Freshman Jonathan Davis and Jon Kopriva will also fight for playing time.
George Washington also picked up Isaiah Armwood who transferred from Villanova. Due to NCAA transfer rules he will be required to sit out this season but is eligible to practice with the team.
