2011-12 Preview

After one of the best seasons in years, the Bulldogs lost some valuable pieces, but have some depth returning, which means expectations are for another solid season that may improve on the Bulldogs’ 9-7, third-place finish in the SEC.

Backcourt

Senior Gerald Robinson Jr., is the top returning scorer on the team (12.2 ppg) and led the team in assists (133) and steals (42) last year.

Senior Dustin Ware was one of only two players to start every game and was the team’s top 3-point shooter (57 made, 43 percent). He averaged 8.0 points per game and tallied 114 assists.

Junior Sherrard Brantley averaged 2.9 ppg in about 13 minutes off the bench last year. Junior Vincent Williams tallied 13 points, 14 assists and sever rebounds over about six minutes per game in 20 contests, while senior Matt Bucklin tallied four points and three rebounds in 17 minutes.

Frontcourt

Senior Connor Nolte is the top returner on the frontline, averaging 10 minutes per game and tallying 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds with 11 assists, 10 steals and six blocked shots.

Sophomores Marcus Thonrnton and Donte Williams combined for 1.2 points and 1.6 rebounds per game with 26 assists, 29 blocks and 12 steals over about 8 minutes per game between them.
